Ruang Khao

has anybody come across Ruang Khao yet, its a white spirit from the makers of " lao khao " they say its there version of VODKA ( if you beleave that ) a sales man just dropped a bott off at the mrs shop , 700ml , 35% VOL . should go well for all us ARCHA drinkers at only 160 baht a bott ….

at B160 it doesn't hurt as much when the mrs throws the first shot from the bottle down the drain "for luck"!!

Because they are not rolling in the cash, and maybe drink everyday.

The official Lao Khao takes about 20-30 years to kill you, going by our local vertically challenged adherents. Some last even longer. For some farang, that is long enough ...... For a while had one farang who most days worked his way across the village from one grog shop to the next, having a shot in each. Gossip soon spread. Haven't seen him for a while. Think the Thai mia noi ditched him as too much face lost.

20 - 30 years, I doubt it.

Myself, I prefer Red Biddy, if I'm feeling flush.

I tried a small glass last night with an ice cube and a splash " M150 " and must say after 6 botts of archa it was,nt too bad .. I think 35% vol is about 70 proof ( but not sure )

We have had it in the village for about 3 months now. Only seen the small bottles (about the same amount as small Lao Khao) being sold for 65 baht. Our local convenience store keeps it in the big cooler along with the beers. Tastes way better than LK.
