Where in the world does a country guarantee your safety? These fools try to make it sound like anyone can buy a gun in the U.S. where in reality there are rules and laws regarding the purchasing of firearms.

Many countries offer warnings or advice to their citizens considering travel to the US. That's fairly widespread now.

the problem however is that these rules and laws are incomplete and full of (bullet?) holes ... :(

not sure what all the rules are state by state and quite a few years since I live in CA and TX. Rule in TX was you could buy any gun if you showed TX drivers license, no criminal checks and no waiting period. Now I believe you can have open carry even with an assault weapon.

Having said that, I think this is a bit over the top for Amnesty International to take it upon themselves to issue a warning that is the prerogative of Foreign Affairs in other countries around the world, not AM.

The fact is, while there are things that disturb me about US gun laws, I always feel safe on my visits to the US, no difference really to any other developed nation.

He'd have probably said the same if you said you were a serial killer thinking of coming out of retirement.
