Car scratches

Post by Chuchi » August 31, 2019, 9:18 am

I have scraped the front bumper of my car,no physical damage just the paint has come off.Does anybody know of a local garage who could do a small touch up.I had a go myself already with a can of acrylic spray paint which looked ok until it started bubbling up :D ,doesn’t have to be too professional as the car is not new.I don’t want to go through insurance as I have 6000 excess and for what I’m after I don’t expect to pay a fraction of that price. If nobody can help regarding a small local garage or failing that any DIY enthusiasts could explain to me the procedure for me to have another attempt.

I know if its plastic you will need a plastic primer first , followed by the colour , followed by at least one clear coat , with a light rub down with a 600 grade paper between coats

No worries . Make sure you allow enough time for the coats to dry , especially the primer .

There is a body shop at the linked location. I had a bumper repainted there for 1,000 THB. They removed the bumper, painted it, and reinstalled it the next day. It looked as good as the original. About one hundred meters past the Lotus Express on the way out of town. Same side of the street.
