Oh really I had you down as a sensible person , amazing how first perceptions change over time . Plus what the hell has this got to do with traffic , some of you are really sad .

A larger than usual group of roadies arrived at the AP/RR intersection this morning im expecting the progress to speed up and the disruption to get worse , in fairness the traffic up to now has been normal so maybe wont be too bad with more people staying at home.

above said im still predicting NO way this project will be completed by July as stated on the big blue sign erected nearby.

Didn’t see any rozzers at the usual place on the ring road crossroads. Wonder if they’ve been deployed into town to catch maskless citizens. There will almost certainly be more money in it than turning right from the wrong lane.

The hole/water main leak at the Sam Prao road junction with the ringroad is still leaking ...... No signs of any infilling of the sink hole.
Update - no change, still pumping.......

Every 2nd or 3rd day, the long-boom back-hoe bails out more goop. Don't know how long it's going to take them to drain the klong that way.

I think in truih they will have to almost shut the junction completely to dig it all up to find the problem, and that scenario is the problem , poor design and lack of forethought is now apparent. Plus the increasing weight of lorries and traffic has affected a road previously just a small single track soi only few decades ago.

Yesterday false dawn on serious commencement of the beautification of the AP/RR intersection was most upsetting .. as it turned out to be a flying "lets have alook" mission .. today we have roadies measuring and marking the old road surface that has already been scrabbled..but the opposite outside lane not the inbound Udon side... A few bodies here today getting in some Sunday OT but still not a lot happening ..

The shuttering for the concrete surface is a good 30 cm deep which is the depth stated in the amphur booklet according the duck noodle man.. that is a thick lump of concrete and standard for Westside road improvements , hopefully will last and not crack due to movement as happens in many places .. ... this is a mega junction with a lot of heavy traffic not a piffling weeney set of traffic lights similar to the gate way to San Phrao Fountain junction on the Eastside.

Those ultra-heavy trucks make minced meat of asphalt, especially while stopped/barely moving at intersections during the hot season. The government is coming to grips with this problem.....one intersection at a time.
I'd like to see the government make a bypass to the 3-way intersection at Kilo 5/ringroad (Nadee). Traffic coming from Nongbualamphu on the way toward the airport could easily pass through that intersection......similar to what was done at the Kilo 8 intersection with the PTT station.

Yes, tri axle trailers are the worst. Even on the slightest bend the front & rear wheels drag sideways

IMO i think a flyer over in whatever form/layout on HW2 at the KK Udon ring road junction leading onto Taharn rd would be a great idea.. i dont see a lot of traffic issues regarding the lay out at the AP/RR intersection just really old worn out tired dangerously uneven asphalt road surface.... hopefully soon to be 30cm reinforced concrete that should do the trick...along with some nice paved pavements/sidewalks for walking the doggies in safety.

3pm Sunday live update .. its very very quiet on the road here and the skies a very grey n murky.
