Well im.suitably impressed ... just done my 30 mins on the bike n took dogs out for a wazz and the 10 strong roady gang are still working .. due to the heavyvrain on fresh laid concrete they have had to re smooth the surface by hand ..now cutting expansion joints every few meters .. bearing in mind they arrived on site at 7:30 am .. all i can say is well done ..

Traffic snarl ups are becoming mire frequent but saying that so far the project hasnt been too much of an issue..

Now all we need to do is get a new drainage gang .. first spot of rain they scappered quicker then a jock when its his round .

The street going north from Prajak circle to Clock roundabout (think it’s still HWY2) is closed off northbound with the poorly marked contra flow to get traffic into the southbound lane starting right on the roundabout.
Pretty chaotic with vehicles trying to get into their respective lanes

AP/RR Love junction make over update.

Moving into a new phase and very much looking like we will be having a whole new road lay out in the coming days as 3 full lanes now completed on the inbound side and 2 on the outbound .. coming from NBLP the right to the AP was concreted late last night . Im guessing traffic may be moved onto the newly laid sections ...time will tell.

Still no real hold ups at all during the project =D> .. tho the temp surface Nong Hin school side is causing issues with pot holes and ripples and should be transited at a low speed.

a grey vios snagged by the rebar last night same spot as the previous 2 casualties.

The outbound single dirt track past the closed-off airport access is causing issues for 2-wheelers so caution is needed when following them. As for the rebar incidents, didn't see any obviously narrow bits on the way to the House of Dogs but with some local drivers being unable to guess where their near-side is at the best of times and trying to avoid rough bits and bikes, maybe they are the ones wrecking their tires?

The longest rush hour tailback on the east ring road is now the single lane southbound between Global and the Nong Bua/Nong Sai lights. This is mostly due to muppetry by those wanting to u-turn and otherwise cross to the soi beside Home Pro, the Shell station and pretty much any point in between where they have a flatish surface.

Must ov heard us.... the crappy single lane part of the out bound side has been closed off and some temp stone resurfacing is being done .. which is great until it rains. This is the narrow section between the grass island where my umpires stand is and the rebar snagging newly laid concrete surface.

Luckliy after today the chance of heavy rain n flooding subsides with a hotter dryer week plus in prospect... so this temp surface may last.

Just as i typed that it started to piss down

Horribly busy traffic today!

On my wasted run into Immigration late morning, I saw a couple of police traffic checks. The one opposite the Mazda dealership on Phosi (between the rail road and the lights for Central) saw the cops scarpering for cover just as the raindrops started falling. In town I saw a couple of motorbike wheel-clamper cops (two different locations) writing up tickets for double-parked, unattended, hazards-on dickwads.

Flash flood. Google it.

Point to note: the drive-thru car tax payment booths at the LTO on Udondutsadi shut at 14:26 on Fridays.

This from the sports lorry driver paying his past-due tax at 14:25.

Makes me feel a tad better after my strike-out at Immigration earlier.

AP/RR Intersection.

As predicted a slightly new lay out is now in operation .. this only effects the out bound Nong Hin school side not the inbound Tap / Duck noodle shop side.

Traffic is now using the newly laid concrete lane heading out of Udon ..still single lane but its new and flat which means the shocking pot holed surface does not have to be transited anymore , going into Udon its still single lane on the old original surface which is still holding up ok ..for now.

Looks like the drain laying gang are holding up the road layers so they are working on the outbound lane and the turning right to the airport first ..

Thumbs up for the road gang they are steaming ahead ... the drain layers get a flash of my arse cheeks WABOW

Its heng ... no mud no problems until it rains again which looks like being a week away.

Some roady type chaps shuttering the central reservation , not sure if we will have any greenery remaining .. its only approx 1m wide now the new higher concrete lanes are laid.

Things moving swiftly here on the west side.

On another thread Niggly mentioned a Shevy sticker ... in a total coincidence a classic Chevrolet 1956 S700 long wheel base rear twin axle pick up drove in the Tap car park outside my office ..

You dont see these everyday so i took a snap .. all be it in need of a paint job for a full restoration the Thai owner is very proud of it ... just one of a large collection of his classic overseas vehicles ...a marvelous looking truck which may bring back some memories for our American members ..

HERE IS THE BEAUTY , more suited to the set of a hillbilly movie ..

Im betting some of UMs ""classic "" American members will have had a pick up similar .. i googled this model and there are hundreds that have been fully restored , customized and still in daily use ..taking the date to the prom or a drive in movie or even a coast to coast road trip...

Used in the Wrong Turn movie as well as numerous others..
