Water cut off Feb 19
Water cut off Feb 19
I have been told that the water will be cut off, in several areas of Udon Thani on February 19, 2020. Anyone heard about this ?
Re: Water cut off Feb 19
Lotus Nadee, Ban Nong Yai, Ban Chang, Ban Jan, Ban Non Phu Tawg, Ban Kao San, Noon Sung, Horse Race Trace, Ban Muang, 4way intersection Udon/Sakhon Nakhon, Big C-Santapol, Nong Du, Nong Na Kham, Zone Adunyadet-Ban Lao
I'd say, if you live in Udon, plan for the water to be off all day on the 19th. If you have water on that day, consider yourself fortunate.

thanks for the warning. Haven't heard anything from the village chief on his PA about this.. So long as our tank is full when they shut it off we should be good for 2-3 days!

ah #7291
remind me, was that the emergency powers issued to ensure there were enough supplies to throw at car windshields during songkran or the one to ensure there was enough supplies to water the central reservations on duel carriageways so the grass would look pretty
seriously, is it some type of system upgrade ? or perhaps maintenance (cleaning pipes etc whilst levels are still low)

Apparently they're going to fix an 800mm size pipe. That sounds awfully big to me....but it's what's in the announcement. Maybe why so many areas will be affected.

Thanks for the explanation.
It must be a pipe which feeds a water treatment plant for the Udon Area if it says untreated water.

There's a giant water tower near the top of the hill just before Kilo 13, left hand side as you're heading toward Nongwahsaw. I'm not certain, but I believe it's the main feed station from the reservoir at HuaiLuang to the city.

Just don't be upset if no water on the 20th, even if repair done they should expect a lot of leaks from the old pipes that supply the city. Hopefully they will not turn on full force when done, but gradually to keep initial pressure down.
