Thanks for the reminder, was there last year had another heart attack while I was there, gave me another stent in the NHS hospital gave me all the notes which I took to my daughters Dr and signed on there. Hope to return again to do a Dr visit.
Re: Sendiing Mail
Good to know malc. It always seemed that it was outbound from Thailand that was the issue and your experience shows that inbound was mostly OK. Thanks. I think it's a safe bet I will be using the Post Office for my delivery.
I also have 4 wheel nuts (part of an incomplete purchase while I was in UK) but I will get my sister to send that separately.

Malc,
I would think Thai Customs might have a problem with medications coming through the post. Ever have any problems?
Re: Sendiing Mail
Have been getting medications sent out to me now for quite a long time, never had a problem, once was sent ordinary mail did not arrive not sure what happened that time, but only once.
Now we do the tracking one works well.
Cost about 10/11 pound get every month.

Re: Sendiing Mail
Anybody have an update on mail to and from the states?
Re: Sendiing Mail
Delivered in Lancaster yesterday so 11 days. Took an extra day as the sender forgot the post code (!) and Parcelforce sorters in London sent it to Carlisle instead of Preston. Obviously English geography is not their forte.

Has anyone received mail (ordinary letter) from Oz recently?
I am still waiting for something that was (apparently) sent at the beginning of April.

That surprises me! In March my sister was told by her local post master that international mail was not being accepted due to International Commercial flight restrictions. He suggested DHL or the like.jackspratt wrote: ↑July 2, 2020, 10:05 amHas anyone received mail (ordinary letter) from Oz recently?

Took me about 10 weeks to receive my last package (posted "Express" just before they ceased the service), came by sea.
Sent from my 1977 Apple II using 2 Heinz bake bean cans and piano wire!
Re: Sendiing Mail
That was March. Thailand Post rejigged the mail in/out status of many countries on 2nd June. Looks like Australia is still off the list which I guess is because there's so few flights now the great Aussie repatriation is done and dusted?Bandung_Dero wrote: ↑July 2, 2020, 10:44 amThat surprises me! Re: Sendiing Mail
Both letters, which I posted, by ordinary airmail, on 16 June, reached their destinations last Wednesday 8th. Julymathusalah80 wrote: ↑June 16, 2020, 11:02 amFor what it is worth!
I attended the main post office yesterday with two letters for airmailing to the UK.
The lady in the 'convenience' drive through posting cubicle, confirmed airmail service to UK had been restored.
Cynical that I am, I then went upstairs and spoke to one of the Supervisors, who also confirmed that situation.
With some trepidation, I posted my letters!

Re: Sendiing Mail
Sent a SSA form to the US. Post Office said no air mail only EMS. Cost 880 baht for one letter.
Re: Sendiing Mail
My sister's sending me a small package, dropped off at the (UK) Post Office last Tuesday 14th, tracking shows "LANGLEY HWDC, Item Leaving the UK" at 11 a.m. yesterday after sitting there for 3 days, presumably waiting for an airplane.TAXIfor7/11 wrote: ↑July 12, 2020, 10:26 amHad a letter sent over from uk last monday,''signed for'' usually takes 6/7 days ,lets see what happens this time
BTW, the time-sensitive stuff via DHL that was picked up Friday 10th in the UK was collected from DHL office in Udon on 14th which was one day earlier than they advertised.
