Buddhist Lent .. (Khao Phansaa) is the only day alcohol sales are banned.. checking the calendar it looks like thats Monday 6th, point to note whilst still under emergency decree anything can and possibly will be decided on .

Re: Alcohol Ban July 4, 5, 6, &7 ??
Be forewarned: the Buddhist holidays of Asarna Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent fall on July 4 & 5 this year, but because they fall on a weekend, the days before and after will also become holidays making it a 4 day long weekend. So the usual alcohol ban may be extended for the full 4 days but nothing official has been announced. The Thai cabinet has already approved the 4 day long weekend.
While not officially announced or clarified at yesterday’s announcement, it’s expected that July 4-5 will see alcohol sales banned, as with every Buddhist holiday. If the holidays follow prior years, the additional days will see government offices closed. But the measures are subject to change, especially considering the current Covid-19 situation. An official announcement is expected in the next few days.

Well I suppose the alcohol free Buddha holidays will get the kids back into class for at least a few days hopefully starting on 1st July before the teachers get another extended paid absence.

This C19 year has been different for sure .. but putting that aside IMO the excessive number of holidays , substitution for holidays , birthdays and religious days etc etc that are non working is way way OTT .. no wonder Thais crave for a job in the government civil service sector .. add on the health n pension benefits n its a no brainer .. must have a negative effect on the economy at some stage .
No wonder except for the academically orientated most leave the education system as game playing windalickas devoid of ambition and a personality... that goes for the students as well !!!!!!!!
I need a Sivilai now .

Noted but the issue of an Alcohol Ban on designated days is still up in the air as it were, so watch this space, NOT that we expect the local village shops to comply in any way, but need to check Rum bank in my home top ensure a goodly supply .....lolDoodoo wrote: ↑June 24, 2020, 5:38 pmThere ya go KP
