Not much help up here but at least it is a step in the right direction. So next time our Ambassador is sharing a bottle of Burgundy with his French counterpart may want to find out how to do it nation wide.

Pretty sure these embassies offering Sunday jabs have done next to fa to arrange this so I wouldn't class them much different to the Brit embassy. The Thai government has simply gone to select expat groups via embassies (for the Brits it was the BCCT) and offered a handful of free AZ shots to those who signed up fast enough and leaving many others without. I take it as the alternative to the massive fustercluck of a site thailandintervac.com they had initially for this process that cannot handle the data load on a daily basis.Drunk Monkey wrote: ↑July 17, 2021, 8:38 am

We should strive for the French embassy method and get quality vaccines shipped in for us, and let Thais keep the AZ stuff for themselves methinks.
Re: Covid vaccination for Australians this Sunday in BKK
Yep, Thailand trying to offload the AZ surplus -- most Thais who had a choice have refused it. The quality stuff donated to Thailand has been scarfed up by the high society players and their friends and families.Mjkt wrote: ↑July 17, 2021, 5:43 pm

They're trying to turn their loss into a PR goodwill gimmick.

I spoke with a friend in Pattaya on Friday. He said they were offering shots Astra shots starting last Wednesday or Thursday. Embassies were late getting out the message.

Another expat jab opportunity comes and goes. BKK Post
"Foreigners residing in Thailand learned on Saturday of yet another chance to get a coronavirus vaccination. But by the time most were able to log in and register, the opportunity had vanished."

As you suggest, a cynical ploy by a failed administration to look like they're linking hands with foreign leggations to improve the lot of their diaspora. Of course hosting it at SCG's facilities makes them (and their major shareholder) look like a public-spirited and benevolent entity.Mjkt wrote: ↑July 17, 2021, 5:43 pmPretty sure these embassies offering Sunday jabs have done next to fa to arrange this so I wouldn't class them much different to the Brit embassy. From today's Bangkok Post:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... na-vaccineArmed forces unit under fire over special request for Moderna vaccine
The Protocol Division of the Royal Thai Armed Forces is being probed and criticised for seeking a special allocation of Moderna vaccine for its personnel and their families.
Deputy spokesman Maj Gen Teerapong Pattamasingh Na Ayuthaya said late on Thursday night that an investigation was underway into the decision by protocol chief Col Yutthasak Promtha to make a special request for a supply of the vaccine against Covid-19.
Called it.

Have you got your American taxpayer funded Covid vaccine yet Giggle? If not, perhaps try to pass yourself as an Aussie to get a vaccine.

The Thai government is offering these Astra Zeneca vaccinations, not the embassies.
It's the stock Chan-o-cha can't get rid of, as even poor Thai dirt farmers have said "No" to that garbage.
Healthy young nurses and government workers are falling over dead after they were made to take it. I'll pass.

Good luck hiding from the virus while waiting for what you think is a flash vaccine Giggle. Hopefully you don't need to be cowering away too long. Hang on, it's not on to say "cowering". Make that isolating yourself away from potential sources of Covid 19.
