Thanks for posting that. I passed by a few days ago and noticed someone jazzed up the area. I'll pass your post along to my friend who sits on the Chamber of Commerce.

Really looks great, but you know how it goes here. No money allotted in the budget for maintenance. Chances are they'll all be dead or stolen in the next 30 days. Hope I'm wrong!

555. Bloody tropics. They'd last 60 to 90 days where I am in farangland but the local government would soon have contractors doing some replanting.

UDMAP is currently a go to place for crazy American politics. The Udon news here is quite limited.

GT I agree that Udonmap could be a tiny bit more local oriented. Myself i am thankful to all those who took the time to inform us about the covid situation. Right now someone is providing key info for anyone needing eye consultation.
Stay safe.

I've had prescription rose-colored glasses for the past 25 years. Although there have been times when I thought cataracts were setting in (coups, more coups, Thaitanic, tsunami, red/yellow shirts), the rose-colored glasses option has been the best medicine for a happy life here. There are too many good things about living in Udon......give yourself a few months in your home country every few years to refresh the brain cells on why you moved here in the first place. Life is good here.....and getting better by the day.

My morning walk took me to Sri Suk Rd
giving me the chance to enjoy the
gorgeous floral display.
I am pleased to inform the UM members
that it appears that ...
NOTHING..
Nothing has been stolen.
Nothing has been damaged.
Nothing has been displaced.
Nothing has been vandalised.
Plants have been taken care of.
My only regret was that the Waterfall fountain was off.
GO and enjoy.
VIVA Udon Thani.

This cool weather allows these temporary floral displays and thanks to the-monk for telling us about this exceptional effort. This time next month, they'll be burnt t' crisp just like our Yai's seasonal veggie emporium on t' allotment.

It's getting better (all the time):
A variety of park benches from the city. Nice shady spot.

Morning stroll in Nong Bua Park.
The Park has been redesigned, relandscaped offering an easy pleasant 2 km walk. Pothole-free walkway with a lot of shady areas, beautiful blooming trees and flowers. The maintenance crews make sure that the Park stays in top shape and well manicured, remaining an oasis of peace, tranquillity and safety.
In addition you get the San Jiao Pu Ya shire and the Thai-Chinese cultural centre as a bonus.
Go and enjoy.
Your body will thank you.
Stay safe.
fyi THERE IS A COFFEE SHOP AT THE CULTURAL CENTRE.

one quirky little thing about that running/walking
track. nongbua has a 1/2 rubberized coating on
walking side?i wonder if recycled car tyres ?

not sure if other parks are same but its nice
similar to a very thin yoga mat

The coating - the rubberized coating - as you call it was put in in early September 2020.
They were small beads-pellets, look like small peas or granular fertiliser, in 20-30 kg bags, they were loaded in a small cement mixer with coloured glue, then spread on the track and raked to level. I never asked what they were.
The 2 pics were taken September 04 2020, i had many others which i deleted.
