Cost of Living Information - Udon Thani

Post by harmonyudon » October 15, 2012, 12:24 am

Udon Thani is much more cheaper than BKK. But comparing to other South East Asian cities BKK is still cheap.

According to Mercer's 2012 survey Singapore and Jakarta are the most expensive cities in South East Asia?

The living cost in Jakarta (61st) is considered higher than in Bangkok (81st), Kuala Lumpur (102nd) and Hanoi (136th).

Tokyo is the world’s most expensive city, pushing Luanda, Angola, down to second position, according to Mercer’s latest Cost of Living Survey. Osaka is in third position, up three places from last year, whereas Moscow remains in fourth and Geneva in fifth positions. Singapore and Zurich share sixth place, up two and one places respectively since 2011. Ndjamena, Chad, drops five places, but Hong Kong retains its ninth place.

Cost of Living Information - Udon Thani

It could possibly be cheaper to live in Udon than bangkok. However, I am very surprised by the expensive land and housing prices in Yang wat Udonthani. 'm Currently in Hua Hin and I can immediately see that it is much cheaper to buy a house in areas in and around Hua Hin and Cha Am. The food at the restaurants farrang is a much higher class and the Thai street cuisine are the same prices as in Udon. Overall, this means that you get more for your money at sea if want to own their own homes and still live cheaply. This is a surprising trend seems to continue. Subsequent studies say that Udonthani has the second highest land prices in Thailand and then not even a bathing nearby. Udon is becoming a place for the wealthy Thais and farrang may have to relocate soon .... at least Cheap Charlies =P~
These days life seems pretty good and I eagerly look forward to the continuation!

How about the rental prices in that area, e.g. hotelroom? Can you get a full aircon room for 320baht per day??
