Being a Jock, you have a basic understanding of American. I'm not sure the same can be said for our Croatian attendees, and I dont know if any of these side cupboards have translation equipment installed
You were there?

Cool!

Phuket sees Covid-19 surge, lax prevention and booster shot issues

Thailand’s island province of Phuket has experienced a concerning surge in Covid-19 infections over the past month, according to the Provincial Public Health Office. Deputy Chief Dr Muanprae Boonlorm highlighted that Vachira Phuket Hospital has seen a rise in Covid-19 patients since the Songkran holiday in mid-April. The number of hospitalisations due to pneumonia and Covid-19 related fatalities have also increased compared to the February to March period, Bangkok Post reported.

As far as I can tell, the Thai media likes to parrot all these tourism and hospitality people talking about the Chinese hordes that never, ever came. It's all gone a bit quiet on that front since before the election. On the other hand, there is evidence of a surfeit of Russians in Thailand but especially in Phuket.

The Covid surge was predicted and so far, running to expectations. Stay safe out there, keep your distance, wash your hands and wear a mask if you think it helps.

If the government issues a new mask mandate (and I don't think they will), just like last time, I will be more than happy to comply. Until then, you and the locals that go about their lives with a perpetual chin hammock can respectfully take a number.

I've worn a mask every day for 3 years and I don't know what all the fuss is about.

ON a more serious note, no only is Covid with all its offshoots making a comeback n some areas, but mor worryingly is the other now highlighted hMPV another known respiratory illness which can kill
So ow we have COVID,RSV,Flu, hMPV all bearing similarities in symptoms, all dangerous for children, and the elderly and those with respiratory illnesses, like the FLU and RSV hMPV is also seasonal winter through to spring .
spread exactly the same way through droplets from coughing or sneezing , touch (shaking hands etc ) .

We are not out of the woods yet, seems as if Mother nature is determined to ease population congestion one way or the other . Take care folks
Those mask deniers , especially the man in Big c yesterday, coughing and spluttering along a Fresh FOOD aisle may I thankyou for your inconsideration and apologise for not speaking to you even though you spluttered something to me.I will not engage in conversation with someone obviously ill in a shop especially the fresh food aisle.

Although nothing has yet been proven, it would appear, judging by the various peaks and troughs around the world that the virus transmission levels are weather related
