Annual Road tax renewed last week.

sorry a bit puzzled if the bike is a few weeks old why is the road tax renewed ?

Sorry Dragonz...my mistake ..I bought it in December 2017...not 2018 as previously stated.
Just did the road tax a fortnight ago.
