Bai Ya Nang Tea
Bai Ya Nang Tea
I was just at the herb shop next to Tops....looked for Bai Ya Nang....but didn't see it on the shelves. Despite 4 customers browsing the store, there was no one there to assist/pay?? It's possible I missed it.
On Phosri Rd, directly across the street from Ngeesoon Grocery Store, there's a health store that should carry it.
Here are a few photos of capsules/tea......if you want to show the clerk.
If you want to go the fresh route, the leaves are readily available in most any fresh market.....and here's a website that offers a way to make a healthy drink with the leaves.

Bai Ya Nang Tea
Thank you, will give it a try
Bai Ya Nang Tea
My wife buys bai ya nang leaves for making แกงหฺน่อไหม้ (gaeng naaw mai), Isaan style, (bamboo shoots with bai ya nang juice). As parrot said, they can be found in just about any fresh market. The are generally found in the markets all year.
Bai Ya Nang Tea
My understanding is that the addition of the bai ya nang to the bamboo helps reduce the uric acid impact of the bamboo.

I think you are right parrot. My wife says that the bai ya nang "helps" the bambaoo shoots. She will also add bai ya nang liquid to mushrooms when making แกงเห็ด (gaeng het).
