cat trap

Post by samuel » February 11, 2018, 2:51 pm

a stray cat has chosen our roof as its new quarters.
my dog is turning mad every time he's hearing any noise from above.
sleep is no longer thinkable.
something has to be done to get rid of the unwanted lodger.

because it is very dangerous to walk up there without falling down through the ceiling, it is impossible to drive the cat away.
first i tried with a full can of baygon spray. not successful.

what came to my mind is to catch the beast and relocate it afterwards 10 km away from my home.
does anyone know if you can buy such traps (designed for rats) at a bigger size for cats here in udon thani?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

A length of pvc piping with a looped rope fed through the middle? i.e. same the locals use to catch snakes. I appreciate you don't wish to strangle the cat!

Why you don't ask felixcat? We don't like those inbreed Felines. Throw some bleach water on the roof, Take away all the food sources, dog / cat dishes. Or shoot at them every time they come around. Buddists think they are "something" passing on to another place? So give them a kick in the butt to get them there faster.

panick, don't panick.
You said "You have NO COMPASSION for lower life forms such as yourself! :(
A Farmer or anyone with a brain will tell you the wonderful purpose animals have blessed us with..and don't forget "Man's Best Friend" Doggy. But we were never intended to put animals above us humans. When you do that, then we are "below" animals, and some people (hint, hint) start exploiting their own children or kicking them to the streets like soi dogs & cats. Visit a temple and see the big animal santuarys there. There is none. All are killed off, except a few, who are lucky to get the crumbs.
Bleach? Yes, why not..its safe, burns the eyes, and thats why they will leave.."Before their eyes burn".
Shoot them? My Buddist neighbors are telling me to do this, BECAUSE they don't like them either. And what are we talking about here? A sling shot, pellet gun, or maybe 9mm? Only animals I killed in my life, was the ones that attacked my animals and a milking cow that broke its ankle..slug between the eyes.
------? Sorry, that shoe don't fit me.

"next time" came sooner than expected.
there were 2 unwanted lodgers under my roof.
so it was another most enjoyable ride to the ricefields today.
why shooting them?
sam prefers resettlement.

I agree, Why shoot them...unless they are killing your animals. My grandfather lost many chickens to a fox who just liked the taste of blood. He killed 20 chickens, did not eat any. Then ,the cows, attacked by wolves.
Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta go.
A smart dog will find his way home, if he had a home. You can take him to another state, but if he liked you, he will be home soon.

We had rats in our attic. I bought some rat poison and my wife threw a fit because she said they would die up there and the smell would never go away. We had an old mother cat. I took her up the ladder, took open the ceiling cover and let her sniff around. That night you wouldn't believe the noise. I never knew rats could scream so loud. I gave the cat water every day and after three days she was ready to come down. No rats since. The cat must be finding something to eat up there, likely rats or mice.
