Panfood - frozen foods

Post by vincemunday » August 25, 2020, 6:32 pm

I went here on the recommendation of Dunroaming and I have to say it’s a really good find by him. They have lots of different things on offer, frozen fish, steaks, Indian food etc and it’s well worth a visit, I bought stuffed jalapeños, some Australian striploin and some fish fingers.

Anchor mini cheddar cheese jalapeños - 317 baht
2 decent sized striploin steaks - 264 baht
A pack of large sized fish fingers - 190 baht

The menu can be found here www.panfood.co.th

Highly recommended - many thanks Dunroaming for the heads up.

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

It’s a bit difficult as they fluctuate but the upside is they keep the prices keen, some places just charge more to allow for this.

They're a wholesale business catering for bulk sales . they sell small quantities for promotional reasons but you pay higher retail prices. If you notice on their site they advertise just bulk , ie anchor butter sold in packs of 40 blocks. I have a price list but only useful if you buy large amounts . prices for me have not changed at all for the last 3 years on any of their products .we spend on average 3500-5000b a week on beef for our pies and for Sunday roast beef.

The smaller packs of frozen food are mainly in the front of the shop in freezers and the prices are very competitive plus you can get things that aren't easily available elsewhere e.g. stuffed jalapenos, it's worth popping in if you are passing.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Are you referring to a pack with 4 Cod Fillets, think the pack was Blue in color..If that's the one..real Cod my **ss.Bought it 3-4 month ago,all watery and no Cod taste AT ALL..could not even eat one piece..garbagebin..have no cats ;-)

If they have something now that they sell for 159/kilo..that is NOT Cod fillets, cod are more expensive than that, for sure..it's like Tilapia/Pangsus Fillets..farmed and all watery..

Alfie

It's marked as cod looks like cod and tastes like cod then it just might be cod and Makro wouldn't be allowed by law to lie and call another fish cod. And no the pack wasn't blue and tasted nothing like the watery crap you talk about. The fish also had green coloured skin, I think I would know what a cod looks like started my life working as a trainee fish buyer for largest fish company in Scotland. Also it's tails not the loins which are more expensive to purchase. Easy to tell cod most have worms in them pure white and chewy 🤣

I saw those worms in the Cod when the trawlers landed it in Ramsgate, they were still wriggling in the portions I bought, it turned me off cod for a long, long time, truth be told I still prefer Rock Eel aka Huss, Rock Salmon, Dog fish etc, d9nt think we can get that here though.
