Travel insurance - where to buy

Post by msa » March 22, 2015, 3:32 am

Hi there,

Need a travel insurance for my wife as she is to go to Schengen with me. Any advice on where to buy. I'm not looking for the cheapest option, but for a reliable insurance company.

Thanks

/M

MSA

I bought travel insurance for my Thai girl when we went to the snow in Japan a few years back. I bought it online from the Thai airways website when purchasing tickets. There are 3 or 4 reputable insurance companies on the links.
Have a look to at least compare. it is only for Thias travelling abroad or domestic destinations.

It is obviously nonsense to quote premiums as they vary so much with length of stay and benefits but for an approved Schengen Visa insurance the premiums can start from just 286 Baht.

If you care to contact me, we can offer different benefits/premiums for you to compare ?

I have purchased the travel insurance through AA Ins. Broker, as well as my auto, personal accident and home hazard insurance, and I can attest that they are a brilliant company to work with.

I've used Thai Life Insurances, travel health insurance before. http://www.thaihealth.co.th/2012/index_eng.php You can sign up on-line and it is pretty straight forward.

Thai Health is a great company who we do a great deal of business with - on their medical policies. However for Travel they tend to a little expensive plus their benefits are low.
Example a 10 day holiday with them would cost 1,170 Baht (Worldwide) and with AIG 843 Baht for the same medical expenses
Another is 30 days with TH cost 2,140 Baht against 1,561 Baht

Age also comes into it with TH max only 70 years - others 85 years.

Again I will say TH is one of the best medical insurance companies in Thailand but you need to know the figures.
