We now have an Underwriter willing to look at “Classic” cars – warning : what they consider to be Classic may not be everyone’s idea.
Look at the initial list for examples but should you have an older special vehicle do ask and we can see if they will accept.

Sadly, that one has a Japanese engine & auto box fitted... if you're thinking of cruising in a muscle car Maaka, make sure it has a V8 motor ;)

My father had a 1971 Cougar XR7 in exactly this color scheme: http://www.mjcclassiccars.com/cars/71Me ... old/02.jpg, although the one in the photo is missing the XR7 badge (https://img1.etsystatic.com/142/0/68489 ... 3_i9fv.jpg) below the "Cougar" script on the front fender. Awesome car. Lots of power. The doors were very long, however; and the car felt too long and heavy for the interior space. But it was a great car and got lots of attention as i drove it to and from high school!!

Oh Mate.. You certainly know how to fire a load of heated shot thru a mans sail. A Jap engine!
There I was with this vision of me fanging down runway 2 from Nongkhai, flicking them darn speeding Hilux's out of the way with that chromed railway sleeper of a front bumper, and then cruising down Soi Sampan to my hotel, with my tattooed elbow out the window, wearing my wrap around sunnies, looking appropriately mean and cool, with some Thin Lizzy, or Mink Deville pumping out, and firing on all eight cylinders...WHAT a Jap engine......... :(

For the 1971 Cougar models, only only three engines were offered—the standard 240 hp (179 kW) 351 Windsor two-barrel V8, the 285 hp (213 kW) 351 Cleveland four-barrel V8, and the 370 hp (276 kW) 429 Cobra Jet four-barrel V8. No Japanese engines.

Exactly. Best car my father ever had, including the 280 SEL he had for a few years (until I totaled it).

Intersting list of classics as some are only 10 ish years old :)

For me though the BMW 2002 is a true German classic that I'd kill for! Never seen one advertised for sale in a long time. Wonder how many if any are hiding out in LOS.

No need to kill for one here... I've located 3 in Bangkok:
Starting at ฿120,000 for a rough resto projest, to ฿2.4 Mil for a fully restored sweetie with a modern engine.

Reason it's relatively cheap is that it doesn't have the turbo motor, it has a standard M10 with twin sidedraught carbs... but nearest I could find in a hurry ;)

Hello! I plan to buy a car in Bkk at drive it to Udon! My question: May I get a car insurance which I can pay for a period of 3 months? The idea behind is, I want to sell the car in Udon. Or do I need to pay a year in advance and wait for the refund? How can I drive it legally from Bkk to Udon? Regards Richard

Vehicle policies are normally for 12 months but should you sell the vehicle during the policy you can either cancel and ask for a refund or pass on the policy to the new owner - easiest to do and the new owner will need insurance in any case.

You can drive 'legally' on just the Government insurance but if you know about the vehicle before hand then the 1st Class policy can be arranged within a matter of an hour or two - just depends on geting all the info back from you.

Why insure it if you are on selling in Udon. Just put it on a truck and sort it in Udon
