Well they are on their way UDD is saying hundred thousand. Capo estimated 60K yesterday. wonder who will be close to being right? I love the statement in this that says, the Police and troops will prevent any confrontation. They are going to have to do a much better job to pull that one off. The court orders have pretty much left them with their hands tied.

So if there is not a confrontation, it will be because the UDD doesn't want it yet. Ya not everyone in Bangkok are happy with the PRDC. Should be an interesting two days

It may be a military coup yet. But, this time by request. They better think hard and long in the Tuesday meeting

This doesn't sound to good to me, thus far I can't tell that he represent all Thai people, only certain groups. I wonder if he i understand if he does get his way. It's not going to stop there. So far he has done pretty good at avoiding existing law. Why would anyone bother to obey his.

Suthep's ego feeds on the PRDC adulation.. He's been out in the sun so much he's gone over the edge... yes indeed!! the PRDC will send up their PM appointee candidate to HM for signature and his eminence Suthep will countersign!!

That sure put's him a very high level. Probably to high for a Country that loves the Monarchy. That statement could come back to haunt him.

I also note that Suthip says he is going to seize all of Thaks family assets, I think that is a bad move, just might cause uncle Thaks to open his wallet wider. He is not a poor man, he has the ability to do a lot more then we see right now. Threatening his families wealth and well being is not a good move.

Maybe Suthip suffers from hoof and mouth disease.

Well the courts will be busy.

Looks like both groups will get active after the Court ruling, both sides seem to be aware of what the court ruling will be.

Amazing he is the one who is hostile.

Mr. Suthep said two events would be critical to the PCAD's ultimate fight against Ms. Yingluck: the conclusion of the corruption case conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Ms. Yingluck, and the verdict by the Constitutional Court which would determine whether she violated the 2007 Constitution by removing a hostile official from the seat of National Security Council director.

Wonder who the National director will be? If not Suthip certainly someone who will follow his directions. Maybe this is what the meeting is about with the Army tomorrow.

Fact is Thailand is not much different then the other nations in the region. Indonesia big complaints of vote buying.

Maybe I'm wrong he want's to take power forever pull a Marcos and declare Martial Law worked for a lot of years for him.

Doesn't matter what Government you have in office, there is going to be graft. The democrats were actually in power for a period of time of this ongoing mess. Courts booted them out, for the life of me I don't remember what the cause was?

This is not over by a long shot.

A group openly states it;s going to over throw an elected Government then act on it and that's not a crime go figure.

Destroy a Nation for inability of one group not being able to win an election. The is truly sad.

Well, having seen that report I am not surprised SCB and some fund managers are advising their high net worth clients to move their investments out of Thailand. No doubt PRDC's backers are doing the same, if they have not already done so. Given that SCB say it will take them 3 months to restructure their service to these clients (that is how long the bank think it will take to move their clients' assests to safer havens), we can take that as a hint as to when the financial solids with hit the air conditioning. The losers, yet again, will be ordinary Thai people.

I am, however, surprised that Suthep says he will drag the monarchy into this mess. The people of this country, irrespective of their political views, love their individual and they know it has been he who has held the country together during previous political crises. Suthep's proposals could undo a lifetime's work. That must be a price he is willing to pay to seize power.

Time to review my Plan B.

Back in days of old (1970's), our friends tell our Isaan was immune from the political strife that periodically hit Bangkok. We found that comforting when we decided to move here. That all changed in May 2010 when protestors torched a number of government buildings in Udon. There's been no ease up in tension since then......if anything the divisions are greater. We don't lose sleep over the possible outcomes, but we do have a plan b in our hip pocket if the need ever arises.

Just a short drive to Nong Khai and laos.

This is getting down right stupid.

Don't think they have to worry about, doesn't look like there is going to be an election.
