In Chicago, they have some of the most stringent gun laws in the entire US and one of the highest per capita murder rates for cities.
Fact Check: Is Chicago Proof That Gun Laws Don't Work?
https://www.npr.org/2017/10/05/55558059 ... don-t-work

Sorry, gun lovers, your attempts to use Chicago as a prop to bolster your claims that gun control laws do nothing to curb gun violence just don’t hold up, says Tribune columnist Dahleen Glanton:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/colu ... story.html
My statement that Chicago has some of the "most stringent gun laws in the entire US" is true, and the NPR article provided by tinpeeba backs it up. I never said that Chicao had the strictest gun laws, and I'm sure there are cities with tougher ones.

The NPR article states this:
It's also true that there were more than 4,000 shooting victims in Chicago in 2016. It's also true that Chicago has suffered a massive amount of gun crime recently. In 2016, homicides in Chicago sharply rose, mostly as a result of gun homicides, as the University of Chicago crime lab found in a January report.

Gun homicides in the city rose by 61 percent between 2015 and 2016. That helped make the gun homicide rate in Chicago particularly huge compared to other similar cities. The rate was 25.1 per 100,000 residents in 2016, compared to 14.7 in Philadelphia and just 2.3 in New York.

It also had a relatively high number of guns recovered — 243 per 100,000 residents. That's roughly on par with Philadelphia and much higher than Los Angeles or New York.

But it's not true that Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country, as other fact checkers have also repeatedly found.

It is true that Illinois has tougher gun laws than many other states. The state is one of seven that requires licenses or permits to buy any firearm, and it's one of five that requires waiting periods for buying any firearm. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, which tracks gun laws nationwide, has given the state a B+ for its gun laws.
The article from the Chicago Tribune contains basically the same information.

I never said Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country. I used them as an example of a city with strict gun laws that haven't curbed their murder rate -- and STATS bear that out.

Over 1,500 murders in 3 years is a staggering number for a city with a B+ rating from the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

=====

Time magazine has a different view of things than NPR and the Chicago Tribune.

http://time.com/4635049/chicago-murder-rate-homicides/

=====

https://qz.com/1086403/fbi-crime-statis ... o-with-it/
The US murder rate was up again—and 20% of the national increase came in Chicago
The increase in murder rates is mostly concentrated in several big cities—with Chicago accounting for about one-fifth of the rise between 2015 and 2016.
=====

The Bismarck Tribune has a list compiled using FBI data.

Chicago Murders
2015 - 496
2016 - 762
2017 - 478

By far, the largest numbers of murders in any city in America.

http://bismarcktribune.com/news/nationa ... a8e.html#1
Crime rates in America have dropped steadily in the last 20 years. According to the Pew Research Center, violent crime rates fell over 50 percent from 1993 to 2015. Despite this overall trend, murder rates in the U.S. have gone up in the past two years. In some cities, murder rates increased at alarming speeds. For example, there were 496 murders in Chicago in 2015, compared with 762 in 2016.

Which American cities experienced the highest murder rates in 2015? Using data collected by the 2015 FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program, the following is a ranking of cities by their murder rate per 100,000 people. Only cities that had populations over 100,000 and murder rates over 10 were included. The FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program defines murder and non-negligent manslaughter as the willful killing of one human being by another.

It's important to note that although these cities reflect a high murder rate in 2015, rates for the country overall are still historically low. Murder rates in the U.S. are down significantly from the 1980s and 1990s. Cities with higher murder rates range from large metropolises to smaller cities.
These cities are ranked based on per capita numbers in 2017, not homicide numbers.
Rank .......City .......... Per Capita ........ Number
1 ..........St. Louis ..... 59.29 ............. 188
2 ..........Baltimore ..... 55.37 ............. 344

28 .........Indianapolis .. 17.12 ............. 148
29 .........South Bend .... 16.79 ............. 17

I will continue to use Chicago as a prime example where gun laws do not work, and the statistics bear it out.

What I find interesting and enlightening is that the top city murder capitals are controlled by democrats and have been for many years. How do you explain that? They want more gun laws but then tie a cop's one arm behind his back to protect the gang punks, illegals and other scum bags. You can't have it both ways and expect to make a difference. Check the definition of insanity.
All true. The people of those cities repeatedly elect Democrats to fix what they broke in the first place. Their city councils are majority Democrat, if not 100% Democrat.

Meanwhile, "fly-over" America, the area that contains what the Media tries to characterize as the backward, Christian people, who are the mean, racist gun owners, are living in relative peace with all their guns.

One need only look at the county-by-county voting results of the last several presidential elections. The Democrat candidate's votes are shown in blue and are concentrated in the large metropolitan crime areas of the country -- or areas regularly infiltrated by illegal aliens.

Maybe politicians are now a bit worried about the political consequences of inaction on gun control. Hopefully this will be a small step in the right direction but I won't hold my breath.

Trump pushes for ban on gun bump stocks:

Don't worry boys, there will be another shooting soon, so we can start all over again with gun control

The best argument for banning guns.
Don't worry boys, there will be another shooting soon, so we can start all over again with gun control
The best reason to not waste time debating gun control while Republicans run the table.

Democrats Say America Is The Worst Western Country For Mass Shootings. That's A Lie.

As is almost always true, LIBs LIE.
Here’s the list of the 18 countries with the top death rate per million people from mass public shootings from 2009 through 2015:

1 Norway: 1.888
2 Serbia: 0.381
3 France: 0.347
4 Macedonia: 0.337
5 Albania: 0.206
6 Slovakia: 0.185
7 Switzerland: 0.142
8 Finland: 0.132
9 Belgium: 0.128
10 Czech Republic: 0.123
11 United States: 0.089
12 Austria: 0.068
13 The Netherlands: 0. 051
14 Canada: 0.032
15 England: 0.027
16 Germany: 0.023
17 Russia: 0.012
18 Italy: 0.009

Norway’s rate is undoubtedly highest because of the massacre in 2011 when a mass shooter killed 77 people.

The study adds, “Some people have defended President Obama’s statement by pointing to the word ‘frequency.’ But, even if one puts it in terms of frequency, the president’s statement is still false, with the US ranking 12th compared to European countries. … There were 27% more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in EU than US from 2009-15.”
FACTS.

FAKE NEWS: CNN's Chris Cuomo Pushes False Story About Buying AR-15 Without ID, Then Lies About It

As I always say, LIBs LIE.

The story is a LIE and CNN LIES about the LIE.
“I was able to buy an AR-15 in five minutes. I’m 20 and my ID is expired.” There’s only one problem: that never happened. The article itself states, “After [the sales representative] walked me through the paperwork, all five pages of it, I told him I changed my mind and wanted to think more before I bought an AR-15. He told me it wasn’t a problem and listed the store hours if I wanted to come back. I then said thank you and walked back to my car.”

In other words, the guy couldn’t buy the gun without ID and a proper background check, as per federal law.
So, as usual, a gun control-pushing member of the mainstream media lied about the facts, then lied when confronted about it. But these are the supposed objective sources of truth to whom we are supposed to look for unbiased information.
Yes, there are gun control laws in the US -- as I pointed out in my own gun-purchase experience.

And conservatives never do.
Substitute the word "bigot", "bigoted", etc. whenever you encounter "conservative". Whatever the context, the sentence remains accurate. "Conservative" is just a white-washed dog-whistle word re-invented by William F. Buckley after the defeat of Barry Goldwater made it unpopular and politically unpalatable to call oneself a segregationist.

Good question.....why.
I kill animals.

1. Rabbits in Oz, a real menace for agriculture and the environment, introduced by the English.
2. Foxes in Oz, another menace on sheep, native wildlife, and introduced by the English for fox hunting.
3. Feral pigs, another menace on the sheep and environment.
4. Kangaroos for dog meat or a licensed cull.
5. I like guns, great craftsmanship in their workings and history.

I need guns to do the above jobs in Oz, bows and arrows, spears and boomerangs don't do much.

The GREAT thing that is sure to come about because of the student survivors' activism:

Florida will go from purple to BLUE 2018 onward!

Those kids and that generation are Florida's future voters and political leaders. Empathy and sympathy have gone viral. They have a VOICE and the socio-technological mastery to be heard by millions within their state.

Just imagine any or several of them, or those whom they have affected, running for office. It would be a landslide victory if even just their generational peers voted.

A BLUE FLORIDA COMETH!

Hegelian dialectic theory, It almost sounds like this was planned for a desired result, do you know something that you would like to share with us uneducated? You seem very close to the intelligence community being so educated and all or is that just an uneducated guess on my part?
