Because its a movie made in Amelica, who are not known for historical accuracy in their films. Another reason could be that there are loads of old F14's around so easy to let film crews do their stuff on them. Have not seen the film yet but it seems the camera work is superb.

Forgot to mention F18's were retired a few years ago. US Navy uses F18 SUPER HORNETS now.

Looking at the trailer, I have to totally agree with the camera work. The story line may be a bit hackneyed and 'made-to-measure' but I reckon the audio/visual experience will be stunning. Apparently Cruise held off on any remake until it was possible to move beyond CGI and offer something closer to reality.

Looks like it Tam. Probably need to go to the cinema to get the full visual and sound experience that you will not get on the home 55 inch. Hope to hell its not dubbed in Thai!!!
