Technical Problems
Technical Problems
As many of you have noticed, we have been experiencing significant technical problems over the past few days. We have been working with our web hosting company, which now believes that it has identified some problems with our server. A remediation plan has been developed and is being executed as I write this. It should be completed within a couple of hours. Thank you for your patience.

Re: Technical Problems
Good morning! As far as we can tell, the remediation protocol implemented by our web host last night worked. They confirmed to me that all of their post-remediation testing yielded the desired results; and I have had no problems this morning. If anyone experiences any problems, please let me know by email at: [email protected] and we'll be on it.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Re: Technical Problems
It is either a board fault, there is no post from parrot that is referenced in my notifications or parrot or an admin has deleted the post.Udon Map wrote: ↑July 3, 2019, 4:24 pmPlease check your display options. Having just looked parrot's post is showing in his history ( so it hasn't been deleted) but is not visible in the thread.

Re: Technical Problems
OK, I see what you're talking about now. I checked other posts and they all seem to be fine. This could be a one-off, -- as much as we like to think that these things don't happen, they do. I'll also do some checking in the database to see what else might be going on. Thanks for letting me know.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑July 3, 2019, 4:51 pmHaving just looked parrot's post is showing in his history ( so it hasn't been deleted) but is not visible in the thread.IMG_7696-2.jpeg
Re: Technical Problems
I reposted and it stuck. So I'm wondering if I fat-fingered something on my initial try. All seems normal on my end.

Re: Technical Problems
Haven't seen any of the problems JS and others are reporting just recently.
All I can confirm is the "Ajax Error" which had 'dogged me' over the passed 12 months has definitly gone away!
Happy days.

Re: Technical Problems
It is in all probability a database/php error. I suggest that if you have the original, it's in your history, you try a repost or copy it into a new post. This will give a bit more information.
There is nothing that you could have done that would cause this.
PS
I've just seen that you did try that and it's still not working

Re: Technical Problems
This suggests that the database is still somewhat corrupted

Re: Technical Problems
There are still problems as I submitted a post to viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50243 and received a notification that someone had just posted (it was my own post) so there is now a duplicate, I will not delete the duplicate yet.

OK, thanks. I'm passing this along to our phpBB guy.sometimewoodworker wrote: ↑July 4, 2019, 5:02 pmThere are still problems as I submitted a post to viewtopic.php?f=1&t=50243 and received a notification that someone had just posted (it was my own post) so there is now a duplicate, I will not delete the duplicate yet.
Re: Technical Problems
I've just been in touch with our phpBB consultant; and he's working on the database problem as I write this. More in a bit....
Re: Technical Problems
Our consultant reports that the problem is solved. I made a couple of test posts with no problem. If anyone experiences any additional problems, please let us know. Otherwise, as far as we can tell, we're back to normal operations. Thank you all for your patience!
