Beer Factory

Post by parrot » May 28, 2021, 9:29 am

We left Udon in Feb 2020, returned Mar 2021. The Beer Factory (โรงเบียร์) on the western ring road, near the small bus station, wasn't there when we left, but looks to be finished now. Judging from the size, it looks to be something out of a Texas dance hall design book. Don't know if it's the intended name or a play on words, but the name translates out to "Yesterday"

Ive past this numerous times and watched its construction , was due to open a long while ago but covid regs seem to have scuppered that .. we were contacted about sourcing some specialist draft equipment months back .. its a beer hall , live music venue as you state Mr P an outdoor area to the right .. i think they will have there own brewed /brand beer along with guest offerings.

One thing of note .. being as it is totally illegal to advertise any beer images on menus and out door signage that are visable to passersby im guessing the giant beer tower dispenser feature could cause issues ... depending on who is behind the venture ???? it may just go under the radar.

If โรงเบียร์ is beer factory, what does the rest of the blue name sign say?

They could paint it over with black paint like the tail of a Thai Airways jet that's slipped off the runway?

The rest of the sign says: ณ.= at/in/on วันวาน = yesterday/in the past

OK. I've driven past this place dozens of times when visiting Papa's and Chris's and it defo look open-ish now. Anyone ventured in yet? I'm always a good boy and home with Mrs tam before song thoom so no idea if it's busier in the evenings but I assume it must be.

With the bans on overt alcohol advertising in this blighted realm, I wonder how they get by with that huge beer tower thingmie on the north end of the building?

Did anyone every try this Beer Factory place? Any good beers? Worth a visit?

Is it like a huge German Bierkeller with busty serving wenches and chaps in leather shorts?

This place was completed at the worst possible time ever right as covid struck n closures were forced..

Been once .. live music venue with all the usual beverages n action.. some draft options that appear to be re named as guest products as cant say i heard f them... most tables seemed to be drinking spirits n mixer sets... i sat outside after a brief mooch indoors as the music was the usual bassy Thai stuff though i did spot several enchanting large chested young ladies serving on.

well spotted Tam ... Whilst all around venues were and still are getting checked for small beer signs , logos and alcohol promos this place has a. illuminated 30 ft beer tower attached to the corner of the huge building right on the ring road .. lends me to believe the operators may be some one of influence...

Just for fun, but I'd bet the nationality of serving wenches in the featured photo isn't German, I'd bet Irish. I'm very certain of one thing - they're not chaps.

Udon Beer Hall, Nong Prajak, was a popular venue a few years ago. Food, music, drinks. Unfortunately it closed. now under new management with a new name.

When I lived in Germany for a couple of years attended TWO Munich beer fests, a right rip roaring drinking session with numerous one to one encounters etc. Something NOT to be missed as a young chap . Drinking oneself sober takes time I can tell you !!
Rules never go WITH your loved one, never insult the local Plod both of which I did and subsequently regretted it .

No matter how hard people try they cannot recreate the atmosphere or the general ambience of the Real thing, nor for that matter the wonderful food freely available.

every Fest Tent I ever swilled beer in had several squads of broken nosed roll-like bouncers to rapidly clear out anyone who decided to get too rowdy or start a fight. Didn't matter if it was some GI's, some young German rowdies or some hefty putzfrau. They'd get the bums rush, a couple of thumps and quickly out the Fest Tent swinging doors with their head providing the opening.
