From her M6 teacher at St. Mary's. Some of the M6 students registered for University on Saturday Dec 19 in Bangkok. Because of the latest COVID outbreak in 5 provinces, including Bangkok, the St. Mary's teacher told them not to come to school today. The duration of this stay at home order has yet to be determined.

Ok thanks
I was perhaps going to the Bangkok embassy soon and was going to take the family with me.
Didn’t want to get into any lockdown or isolation situation for any one.
Will wait and see.

Yes, my mistake. Dec. 23-Jan. 3. UD Town cancelled New Years Eve countdown. My local hotel also cancelled our Christmas dinner earlier this week.

St. Mary's live on FB. Today they hand out certificates of excellence to the students.
Pre Covid the public could attend these special events. Nowadays it is closed door.

Unfortunately the traffic chaos on Nittayo will remain. Luckily for me, after 20 years of making the morning and afternoon runs, I only have 2 months remaining.

It's a tough world when you have to take a test to get into kindergarten.

"Announcement of students who passed the admission.
Kindergarten preparation level - kindergarten
St. Mary's school for the year 2563"
Not only that, even applying is as difficult as pushing string uphill.

A couple of weeks ago I went with my wife and her niece to apply for kindergarten.
The cost of the application form was 100 Baht - for a piece of photocopied A4 paper.

We were given an application reference number for the 'tests' The dates were listed as being held from 1 to 6 February.
Despite having to give all our contact details on the form, we were told we had to check their facebook page to find out when the 'tests' would take place for each applicant (they wouldn't contact us).

On Friday (29 Jan), after checking for a few days already, I got my wife to phone to school to ask about the list that hadn't yet appeared on their facebook page.
My wife was told not to worry, as the list would be published on Friday evening. Saturday morning - no list.
Wife phoned again on Saturday, to be told by the person who answered the phone that "they didn't know anything about it, and she should call back on Monday" - despite that being the first day of the tests.

So for any kid selected to attend on Monday morning (1 Feb), looks like they will miss it.

My one gripe with St. Mary's - communication. When my daughter did the tests you just turned up - was told she passed, but when the lists of succesful candidates went up, her name was missing. Got it sorted out, but took half a day - and her name was often left off of lists for the first year, as the official list was never updated! But no complaints about the teaching (compared to other Thai schools)
