Another murder in Nong Wau So .

In the early hours of yesterday morning police were called to a house in Nong Or where they discovered the body of a 37 year old Thai woman . Her throat had been cut and there were several stab wounds to her stomach. A 17 year old girl believed to be her daughter is helping them with their enquiries .

Surely ,you are not making that judgment based on reported crimes!I consider most areas of Thailand as relatively very safe!A persons actions can predispose them to being a crime victim anywhere!I didn't read anything in this report that indicates to me that it is the result of Thailand being a particular unsafe place to live!

I really don't know how Thailand compares to other countries in the world, but there does seem an enormous amount of violence within families here. There must be dozens of occasions when my wife has mentioned gruesome incidents to me from tv news or papers. Often over relationships, but perhaps money (lack of it) and drink, drugs the main causes. I'll leave it to the analysts to explain why a son/daughter stabs father to death, because he wouldn't buy the latest model motorbike! Very sad.

I definitely do not feel safer here than most places in the USA!I guess it depends on what area in the States one lives in,but I think it is relatively safer here than in most undeveloped countries!
