Well we now have a one metre brown tidal mark along the river so a respite as long as it does not rain heavily upstream.

It's the poor old farmers i feel sorry for when we have flooding here as the land is very low lying either side of the main road and some have been flooded so often that they have given up.Trouble is it costs a hundred thousand Baht to fill a rai of land which they surely don't have.

Well here in Nong Khai we had a wild night.Holy ----.The only time that comes even close was October 1987 in London.Winds like i've never seen in Thailand.Trees down everywhere and roofs missing. We're OK.All along the main road is hazardous due to tree limbs blocking the bike lane and so bikers swerving out into the traffic flow.

Now that certainly sets some alarm bells ringing, I'm just sincerely hoping that injuries etc are minimal :?

Yep sorry BD, it is a live site :(, nice thought though LOL.

The missus just called home to find out how things are there (Tha Bo), and yep, apparently it sure was a hell of a hectic night, but thankfully it only seems like a few roofs were lost in the storm and noone knows of anybody hurt so far.

Might have been a tornado (lum hua guaht) in the Nong Khai area the other night, Marcus?

Never seen such weird weather here.It struck all along the river and may have been guided in by the Laos mountains.Did it hit Udon at all?

Here,no one hurt as i think the population density is so low that there is no one who will be hit by a flying roof.Anyway,Thais hide at the first sight of rain so were all tucked up when it hit. :)
