Absolutely more flights and more passengers but Bangkok Airways have now dropped the afternoon flight, now only two flights a day to Suvarnabhumi, unfortunately. Don't know if that is only seasonal, time will tell...

Must have been their last flight yesterday arrived 5 mins after Thai and pushed Thai to luggage 2 belt 8) The quicker they get on with rebuilding the old terminal to get another connection walkway and for air asia/bangkok/nok air the better.new terminal can be Thai and future international flights.
June is one of the quieter months.would say Thai was 60/70% full yesterday 8)

They are still showing the 1310 flight on their website - at least in late September (when I hope to use it). :D

Having said that, they did cancel that flight (which I had booked and paid) in April .

I was just looking at the November numbers......but after you asked for the figures, I returned to the aviation.go.th website and got an error message. Pretty standard fare for Thai government websites.
I'll try again in the morning.
The chart at http://portal.aviation.go.th/site/stat/2013/TUD2013.pdf shows 2013 numbers and from what I recall, the 2014 numbers are up 5-10% month to month.

Yeah, no issues with that except that I was surprised at the number of cancellations they placed when I was on an occasional visit in November. I don't want to fly in to BKK from LHR at 1530 then find out BKK Airways have cancelled my flight up to UTH. I want to get off the London 'plane, jump on an Udon bound domestic flight a couple of hours later and be sat on my verandah at 8pm laughing like a drain at my cavorting outlaws. I really don't want to be stuck in Bangers overnight (full of Egg 'n' Beer Stainers, readers). =;

In summary, if an airline is going to aim for a market share then the least they can do is step up to the mark.

In the EU ......in the event of a cancellation, the passenger is entitled, among other things, to cash compensation of Euros 250/400/600 for flights type 1, 2 and 3.
Flight 1----A flight of less than 1500km in distance.
Flight 2----A flight within the EU between 1500 and 3500km
Flight 3----A flight not within the EU of greater than 3500km.
Are there no rules in Thailand regarding passenger compensation in LOS?

Then again I would not want the compensation set so high as so the airline is pushing to fly in very bad weather conditions, or when the airplane has a red-X maintenance condition, or heaven forbid the pilot is still drunk from the night before

The numbers continue to grow for Udon! I suspect a good percentage of those numbers are locals traveling back and forth to Bangkok via air instead of bus/van/car. But in any case......that's a lot of passenger traffic compared to a few years ago.

Was at the airport yesterday and parking is now a real problem. Nearly every parking bay had vehicles double parked and i wonder how many left their brakes off .... Also wheel clamping is now in use. Extra parking is sorely needed. I remember 5 years ago you could pull into any section and pick your space.

Privatise the car parking, WOW what a good idea. Keep the pigs out of the trough with government decisions.

Multi Storey parking would be built within a year and 50 baht for first hour and stagger the prices upwards etc.....

I thought the system at the end parking section, near arrivals, appeared to work ok? Seems one hour limit on parking, after which a fine is in operation. Who is running it, whether it's handled properly if you get near the hour mark, I'm not sure ( no ticket seemingly given on your time of arrival) but I've had no hassles having used it a couple of times - and the system creates some empty spaces. Ok if you're just dropping off/collecting passengers, just watch the time.
