Chaturawit’s friends told police they swam in the pond and Chaturawit drowned.

They said they were frightened and went home without informing anyone for fear of being reprimanded.
Sad and very very disappointing to see this in the culture. Not surprised but if you have kids here this can certainly be a teaching point for those few capable of listening. And a good reason to teach swimming EARLY.

My wife on the other hands says no way, absolutely, most kids would even die trying to save their friend, and for sure run to tell adults immediately to get any help possible.

She says the one exception is if they had a fight or did something bad like pushed him in and ran. But that no way kids would just leave their friend dead. She says possible foul play and better connected parents of perpetrators getting their story out on top.

yes we have had to have a talk with our boy, after he came home from swimming ( he cant swim ) with other kids, and he then got sick because others kept pushing him under to scare him, and he swallowed a gob full..
