Some more details.

Seems the Falang rides a ladies bike (always though bikes were unisex but apparently not. :-k

Do you recognize this thieving falang? Call crime stoppers. Sleep safe! 8-[

Edit. My link is not working, sorry for that. Will try and attach instead.

A person I knew slightly when I lived in Pattaya was caught nicking a loaf of bread from a 7-11. The guys I used to drink with decided that they would pay what the BIB wanted to make it go away to save him from being deported. Cost started out at 5K but started to go up by a few thousand each day until it cost 28K Baht to get him out of the nick and charges dropped. Falangs nicking from Thai shops, even small items is just a no no and you will get hammered. Bet they catch this guy in Udon.

Silly fool. I mean the farang is a silly fool. Cameras aren't exactly a rarity these days.

He's a big lad and looks like he's not short of food.

The address in the Thai article is given as 55/4 Soi in front of Wat Phothiwararam, Phosri Road.
There are several photos of the store.....including a front view at https://www.homecable.co.th/news/crime/news_69424/
I suspect the store isn't actually on Phosri Rd, more likely toward the back side of VT Namneuang.

Apart from snoozy granny reportedly waking to the sound of the booze cabinet being opened and not the sound of trash accumulating.

Since an opportunistic, stop-n-rob theft would appear unlikely, perhaps this farang already knows the shop?

What farang ghettos are within walking distance of the shop? Isn't there a la-dee-da one with a pretentious sounding French name over that way? Got to keep up appearances, no?

Considering the investigative might of Udon Map as to date failed to identify the perpetrator then one can assume he is/was a farang who is a very sad man with zero friends .

Wat Pho Tiwararam is down behind Paradise Hotel. Lived there for a year and a half 73-75. It was the slums then and despite some urban renewal is the slums now. https://www.google.co.th/maps/@17.39702 ... !1e3?hl=th

and the streetview from Google of the store matches the news. https://www.google.co.th/maps/@17.39875 ... 8192?hl=th

Oh wow! Possibly an EastEnder then?

You know who you are so you need to 'fess up for the good of Oodorn's farang enclave.

Please?

Fat falang with a bald head. That must account for what 60 - 70% of the falang population?

I think we need to set up a checkpoint in the area and do some investigation as this low life is giving all us upstanding members of the community a bad rep.

Was trying to identify the motorcy. A yamaha mio possibly?

And fatty Tum tums age? Looks on the younger side, say 40 - 50? Long black trousers and a full face helmet. Quite distinctive.

The net is closing in :-k

not a lot of farang down there.. Lots of little market ladies with their stands at that intersection. Lots of social media exposure. Eventually the guy will be putting through there one day with a trail of old biddies chasing him down the street, fingers pointing, screaming, "that's him!!"

I'd love to see that. 8)

Some of the ladies, perhaps even in their 70s, might be faster than the perp too. He should be leaving town.
