Visa Reminder

Post by Charlieb » November 30, 2018, 12:03 pm

From the Bangkok Post:

Foreigners to get visa text alerts
30 November 2018 - 11:56 am

To make sure that foreigners do not overstay their visas, immigration police will send out text reminders to foreigners before their visa is due to expire. Immigration police chief Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn said Thursday the texting service will be first rolled out in Chon Buri, and he had assigned the provincial immigration police chief Songprode Sirisukha to implement the measure.

you're -- a tricky little contraction composed of combining two words and replacing a letter with an apostrophe.

"You are out of luck" becomes "you're out of luck." It's (it is) really not that difficult.

Ninety percent of the so-called "owners" of the language butcher and bungle it on this forum shamelessly. If it was really theirs, you'd think they'd have a little more pride in it. Alas, it isn't and they don't.

Here you have a multinational/cultural community or purple mix as we referred to it in the military, of folks trying to share or otherwise garner some information from a public forum and you pop up only to show your a$$. Same difference as a bunch of guys sitting around talking (BOGSAT) and some smart a$$ pecker head rudely interrupts to point out an insignificant detail. You'll find someone will take umbrage with your horse crap and hold you accountable.

Hang on . If English does not belong to the English , who taught Shakespeare ?
As for spelling and punctuation , your asking a bit much there old son . Most English people cant even understand what someone is saying if they come from the other end of the country .
But the good thing is most of you colonials adopted such a colourful language .

Yes, from Toranna or Hog Town as it is affectionately known. What's a newspaper? Is that the thing fish and chips are wrapped in?

At least we have the Argos.

Shortly after I retired, my wrist watch died. I never replaced it. Sometimes I do want to know what day and time it is (not often). That's the main reason I need my phone.
