I would start by researching here:

Only you know what you want - size, cost, features, brand, etc etc.

If you find something that appeals, you can then check it/them out live in some of the large stores and electrical retailers - Big C, Power Buy, Makro etc etc.

My most recent purchases have been an LG from Big C, and a TCL from Lazada. I am happy with both.

I bought my last 3 from Homepro, good TVs and with good discounts. My TVs were 65 inch curved smart TV and 2 x 55 inch, all were Samsung brand and still very happy with my purchases

Yesterday, I bought a Hisense 65" Android TV from HomePro.
I never even knew what an Android TV was, but it's basically like a computer.
It comes with IPTV free, and they downloaded LiveNet TV onto it as well.
So, now no need for a TV subscription as I got channels from all over the world and movies etc for free.
Its an awesome TV.

Definitely recommend checking out Android TV's.

Call this number ,they set up IPTV subscriptions . I just got it 3000b a year .had 9000 channels but I slimmed it down to 2100 English speaking channels ,sky channels ,Netflix , just about everything . 0801817504

I found it much cheaper to bring my own here. Had a Cambridge audio one system and mordaunt short speakers . system and speakers cost nothing @ 110 ( love ebay) quid and 50 quid extra baggage . not a brilliant system but for just over 6000b it beats anything off the shelf here

I was lucky the airline had an offer on of £25 for extra 20kg baggage , forgot you also have the power issue too

I had a top of the line expensive Sony, all the bells and whistles. It was at my condo so it got used very little. At about two years old, the picture disappeared. Sony wanted 8,000 baht to repair it. I left it at the shop and bought a new Samsung for a bit more than it would have cost me to repair the Sony. If you want add ons for the Sony, they are proprietary. They cost at least double more than a normal add on. No more Sony TV's for me. The TCL has no problems using whatever I want to plug into it.

At the house I have a big Panasonic, a Samsung in the game room and a TCL in the bedroom. All three have been flawless. I am quite impressed with the second hand TCL that I bought several years ago off UM classifieds. I use the TCL to watch movies from a USB hard drive. When I have to buy a new one, I'll seriously consider a TCL.

Every piece of Sony equipment I ever owned self destructed when it hit 24 months old

I've been running 5 tcl and 1 Samsung which is 8 years old with no problems.i had 1 tcl blow because of power outage but got it repaired.all my TVs have a ups box to protect them from the power outages.the last tcl 55in,4K with Harmon Kardon sound system was the best deal at 13,000b and have voice remote.(just hold button in and say YouTube,Queen and it pops up on screen) if you look on YouTube tcl verses Sony you'll find there's hardly any difference in them apart from price.sony have had their day.my recommendation is a tcl off lazada or power one store on the ring road.

It’s funny I’d never heard or seen the name TCL, however and before reading this thread today my wife said she’d chosen a 40in TCL model reduced from 8000 down to 6000 and it’s a half about model for the money. It’s not all bells n whistles but for her mother it’ll do just fine. Next item to get is the power surge protector thingy
