U.S. Is World’s Most Competitive Economy for First Time in a Decade

https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-is-wor ... 1539727213

Oct. 16, 2018

The U.S. is back on top as the most competitive country in the world, regaining the No. 1 spot for the first time since 2008 in an index produced by the World Economic Forum, which said the country could still do better on social issues.

America climbed one place in the rankings of 140 countries, with the top five rounded out by Singapore, Germany, Switzerland and Japan. All five countries’ scores rose from 2017, with the U.S. notching the second-biggest gain after Japan’s.

buttcracks you mean?

I am not at all sure if your continued and repeated attention and response to my every utterance is a good thing or not.

...for you I mean. A good thing for you.

For me? With "by mech_401 » October 18, 2018, 12:08 am", it is truly warming to see I am obviously keeping you up as you wrestle with my 'persona' or something.

Great news indeed.

It's all built on the sound foundations, good judgement and qualified risks taken by the Obama1 administration when faced with the biggest global economic crash since... well, the previous biggest global economic crash.

A lot of faith has to be placed in the Trump1 adminstration's ability to keep focused on the inevitability of another 'biggest global economic crash' and having whatever resources and backstops in place to ride out that one as well as Obama1 did. Not to get too caught up in the current, quite justified MAGA mantra so much that they don't see what's coming.

Yeah, yeah. O'Bobo spent his first six years blaming everything on Bush. How many times have you heard Trump blame Bobo? He doesn't. He just goes to work doing what he said he would do.

you're a strange bloke tamada, allowed to come work in the usa and probably earned a good income. ( since no opportunities at home?) then

years later, see fit to mock the same system that
enabled you to have success. it seems ungrateful

It looks like our Hillary is back on the campaign trail, her advisors are whispering that she might give it another bash if Biden doesn’t run, interesting times.

There are several sources quoted in the article and this isn’t the first whisper I’ve heard that she intends to stand again and certainly this isn’t the only source. As well as being a sore loser she has an arrogance that would allow her to go for it, the way things are going I think Trump will be re-elected but her running again would seal the deal.

What is the Democratic platform? What are their goals for the country?

They have absolutely nothing except hate Trump. They have lost their minds and the more outraged and hostile they turn, the more Trump soldiers-on making America great again -- a concept they despise. How can they be at once offended, discriminated against, oppressed and ostracized if America is great? They can't, and it's driving them crazy. They need division and hatred.

The Democratic position is that America MUST be unfair, hateful, polarizing, unequal and horrible for their plan to work. Identity politics is how they achieve this goal. They've become raving, angry lunatics and not a single Democrat has a vision for America.

It gives me great joy to watch them devolve into a hysterical braying mob. Meanwhile, Trump's killing it.

Land of the free and all that . seems America's problem is people believe in the advertising. Best place to live ,good working conditions , who wouldn't want to go ? question is can you blame them for wanting to get out of "-----" as trump puts it and get a better life. "America is great" ...ok lets go there then .Same as we have done in the uk "look how good our life is " and we wonder why they want to come
just read an update , now 7000 and weeks to go still so expected to increase . this will turn nasty sadly
