Educate yourself on the topic, and no need for name calling. All countries somewhat employ them to protect certain industries, but when you use them in blanket effect, which is what the US is doing, well, they become ineffective. Unfortunately the US is the Worlds Reserve Currency, it has it's upside, but it is also Artificially Strong, which brings some downside.

Bollox indeed.

The US has plenty of "tariffs", starting at 6.8% on Live Asses (how appropriate) https://hts.usitc.gov/view/Chapter%201? ... 9HTSARev10

and finishing at 2.5% with Monopods, bipods, tripods and similar articles of aluminum https://hts.usitc.gov/view/Chapter%2096 ... 9HTSARev10

And everything in between.

Look it up if you like.

Most of the threads on the Map are American focused threads. The poster who claims he was slandered and the controversial Donald Trump can perhaps take the credit or flak for that.

Yes, all countries do.

But you seem to be under the illusion that the US doesn't - at least not until the recent punitive tariffs were applied to Chinese goods.

Your geography ain't great either. :D

Because, dummy, the tariffs are going to be ineffective, if Chinas' currency keeps falling in response. It's just a vicious cycle, because as Chinas' currency falls, capital will flow out, and most of it will head to the US for safety, making the US dollar even stronger, and further offsetting the tariffs. It's a race to the bottom.

This stuff is Econ 101.

Add in the religious like intolerance of Lone Star's posts and we're further into, putting it kindly, murky waters.

Jesus man, they are not placing tariffs on everything they import, from a particular country.

Canada places some tariffs on it’s dairy products. Now while this does keep Dairy farms afloat, Canadians pay a much higher price for these products, and many are not happy about it.

Trump's sexual history, his taped admissions of grabbing women without consent and the numerous allegations made in public against him are fair game.
