How could they hurt wages? One minute you are screaming that if the Government raised the minimum wage so many jobs will be lost but on the other hand you are saying wages are being suppressed due to immigration.
. . .
You once again lack the knowledge to take part in yet another topic -- this time wages. You can't ask a simple question without insinuating that I have contradicted myself or lied, but it is almost always YOU who doesn't understand the basic terminology that you question.

Bopped across the forehead yet again.

1. The minimum wage is a government-forced wage increase that goes against free market factors and harms businesses by forcing them to pay higher wages that the market cannot bear. It especially hurts small business, the largest group in the US. It usually results in less hours worked and layoffs in order to meet the government-induced requirement. Some businesses have to close because they can't meet that artificial minimum wage.

2. Wages stifled by immigration -- especially illegal aliens -- are a result of immigrants willing to work for less, which drives wages down. These illegals are sometimes paid less than minimum wage and even in cash in order to avoid tax-reporting purposes. American workers are unemployed as a result. When the supply of labor is increased artificially with illegal aliens, demand for labor is reduced and wages are less.

I am almost certain that I have explained both of these statements throughout this thread. But of course, you have said you don't read my posts ... so ...

These are very simple economic and labor lessons as they apply to supply & demand. They are universal throughout the world of free market economics. I thought you have claimed before that you were a business owner or executive? I forget which. I'm shocked that you had to have this explained to you. Because of the way you respond to my posts, you're either a fraud, ignorant or a troll.

Good luck with your research.

Appears the Saudis are not trusting the Americans??? I wonder why?

"As it turns out, the U.S. didn’t wait for “the Kingdom” but instead informed the Saudis on Monday that Iran was responsible for the attack. But the Saudis said American officials failed to provide enough proof that Iran was responsible"

Pew Research Center survey reports that Democrats are slipping in favorability.

When they took a House majority just 10 months ago, they had 53% Favorable and 42% Unfavorable.

Today, those numbers have flipped to 45% Favorable and 52% Unfavorable.

That may have a lot to do with their socialist agenda, getting nothing done except still playing GET TRUMP and the Harpies of Hate continuing their assault on the rule of law.

My opinion? I really don't care that much about something (short of, say, rape) that happened when he was a teenager or in college 40+ years ago. We've all done things when we were young that we now regret.

However, if he lied about those incidents during the confirmation hearings, IMO he should be impeached and removed for that. In fact, if he lied, he should be disbarred, as well, same as Bill Clinton was for lying. As a lawyer, let alone a judge, he should know that you don't lie under oath. Ever.

If.

I think Kavanaugh knows all of that, and I don't think there is anything to indicate perjury, but that's probably where Democrats will go next.

GET KAVANAUGH BECAUSE TRUMP.

More nefarious underpinnings to the phony NY Times story about Kavanaugh.

1. The authors of the book -- that contained all the exculpatory information -- wrote the NY Times article. They knew they were leaving out all the facts favorable to Kavanaugh. The authors wrote the book and the article.

2. This particular incident was known at the time of Kavanaugh's hearing a year ago. There was no corroboration then and none now.

Democrats again recycling stories. GET TRUMP.

There will be more fake news stories coming prior to the 2020 election. The targets will be Trump, Kavanaugh and McConnell. Watch.

If Kavanaugh he lied, it's get Kavanaugh because lied, no other reason. If he didn't lie, he stays on the Court. Seems simple enough. At least, that's how I see it.

Trump's tariffs are taking their toll on the Communist Chinese economy.

Their National Bureau of Statistics report shows weakness in investment, retail sales and industrial output, which are critically important market drivers in any economy.

Industrial output - 4.4% lowest level in 17 years and down from the previous month. Short of analyst expectations.

Retail sales - 7.5% and also down from the previous month. Short of analyst expectations.

Investment - 5.5% also down from the previous seven months. Short of analyst expectations.

China's GDP slowed to the weakest in almost 30 years.

If these are the numbers that the Chinese Communists are allowing to be released, you can bet that it's actually worse.

It was only a couple of years ago the western MSM were lavishing praise on Xi Davos speech .He positioned himself as the bastion of free trade,I suggest he missed his real talent in life as a stand up comedian. The BRI from what I can see is no more than a form of modern day colonialism.

Tom Friedman, a Trump hater, agrees with Trump on the China trade issue. Friedman also emphasizes what Trump and I have been emphasizing -- national security. It's not just about trade.

Friedman even believes -- as many do -- that China would not be where they are in the world if not for their THEFT of intellectual property.

US Manufacturing
The Federal Reserve said Tuesday that manufacturing production climbed 0.5% last month, after a 0.4% drop in July.

Despite the improvement, manufacturers will likely continue to struggle. Factories have been hit by the U.S.-China trade war, which has raised their costs and curtailed their exports. Manufacturing output fell in the first two quarters of this year, the first time that's happened since 2016. In the past 12 months, factory output has dropped 0.4%.

Ian Shepherdson, chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said the improvement last month was mostly a blip and the trade war will continue to drag down U.S. factories.

"Manufacturing is in recession, with no relief in sight," he said in a note to clients.

Manufacturers have also slowed their hiring, adding just 3,000 jobs in August, down from an average of 22,000 a month last year.

"Ian Shepherdson, chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics," Now there is a name along with his position, Not your normal unknown source, Leader Economist, etc Ian Shepherdson founded Pantheon Macroeconomics in 2012, after leaving High Frequency Economics, where he served as Chief US Economist. Ian previously held roles at HSBC as Chief UK Economist and as Chief US economist. Ian was named Wall Street Journal Economic Survey 2014 forecaster of the year for the second time, having previously won the award in 2003.

Year-over-year US output drops less than half a percent, and US manufacturers are still hiring, but recession, recession, recession. Other industrialized countries would love to have those numbers in the current worldwide economic downturn.

Cheerleaders for Failure pin all their hopes on dire doom & gloom predictions that aren't reflected in the data.

It's amazing to see anyone so intent upon wishing failure on one country and one man. If their wishes for failure come true, the effects will impact the haters and people all over the world negatively and directly. That level of hate is beyond comprehension.
