For a moment there I thought you were going to mention the bet. . what is sad is the fact that to bring in a new president all 50 States will be putting troops on the streets. Great ending to his presidency

21 hours till this 4 year nightmare ends.

Just worried, that like most nightmares the ending will be the scariest part (6 Jan was scary/sick, but with Trump and his supporters you never know what else is possible).

Not putting anything past him, but the absolute worst thing Trump could do would be to incite anything negatively for the inauguration. There would be no doubt if he did that the Democrats would get 17 Republican senators to vote for a conviction. His lawyers have already warned him, and apparently he is finally listening and he's just going to take off tomorrow morning so he can use Air Force One one last time for a free ride down to Florida as the POTUS.

He does want a red carpet, a parade, and a 21 gun salute. Total narcissistic moron.

Is it to early to put the odds up, or at least predict the winner of the 3 parties, for the next US election.

Interested in seeing this pardon list. News reporting that he's not going to pardon himself or his family, I find this very hard to believe.

ฺ่้ิ้้Bannon pardoned. Expected this one, most of his criminal actions logically / most likely were in cahoots with Trump.

Not specifically the Border Wall fraud, but mainly the 2016 campaign fundraising / use of funds question. (IMO) Trump being worried about Bannon doing a plea deal and providing state evidence.

That will do you no good at all

You will not know who else (not shown on the list) he pardoned until someone tries to convict them, and they bring out their "get out of jail free card".

Amazed that ANY society could have a system that allows one person to overturn the law of the nation just because he feels like it ........... 3rd world or what?

The rationale behind that is that he would have to list specific crimes to pardon his family from, but that would only cover them at Federal level. So if they are being pardoned for specific crimes at the federal level, that means they are guilty and they could be tried at the state level for those crimes.

A self-pardon would not fly in a court of law.

Royal pardons are common in Thailand.

Totally 3rd world, statts.
In the English and British tradition, the royal prerogative of mercy is one of the historic royal prerogatives of the British monarch, by which he or she can grant pardons (informally known as a royal pardon) to convicted persons. The royal prerogative of mercy was originally used to permit the monarch to withdraw, or provide alternatives to death sentences; the alternative of penal transportation to "partes abroade" was used since at least 1617. It is now used to change any sentence or penalty.
