Just checked in youtube thinking i would catch the highlights from yesterday ..but many stations etc are still LIVE , doing interviews and music intermissions etc .. one thing i wasnt keen of was Tom Hanks being the host trying to be all statesmen like didnt come off ... hes another celeb with a hankering to get into the political scene along with Megan Marlarky .. 2028 perhaps ..

Agree Bidens first speech went ok and all around did a good job .. well done to Mike Pence for attending and thumbs down and a middle finger for DT for whom any remaining credibility has been lost... and worryingly his last words were
ILL BE BACK !!

Good luck to Joe and Kamala .. i thinks shes gonna be the back bone of his term however long or short it is...

Nice section with X Prezzs Clinton Bush and Obama speaking together ..

BTW some smashing face masks on show .

Well it’s now certain that the orange blimp will not concede.

It’s encouraging that stupid stuff like the racist immigration policy, leaving the Paris accord, leaving the WHO, building the Orange wall, building the Keystone pipeline were all stoped.

That there is now a federal employees and land mask mandate, that there is, or soon will be, a federal plan for tackling the covid19 problems. And all of that on day 1.

So the beginning of erasing some of the worst orange policies is there and will probably continue.

Best wishes to the new president and VP

Well done Semp.
But, as per KenR, don't expect any of these morons to believe any of it.

I'm just happy to wait for the bomb to explode.
Many, many people going to jail after Jan 20, and high profile people at that.
And, they are scared, very scared, as they should be.
They underestimated their enemy.
Bad move.

Well that conspiracy fell flat on its face. The only scared persons now are associated with Trump.

The election has proven to be almost fraud free, minor issues in a vote of over 165 Million voters, but very minor. Not anything that impacted on the results.

However, a Senate trial for Trump, many issue for Rudy, a backlash against Rubio and his other GOP opportunists. I hope all these actions get examined in details, the misinformation and manufactured lies are all thoroughly discredited and the USA embraces honesty and democracy.

I expect the mods on this site to block this post, they typically do if it includes cold hard acts. I am used to it by now.

All of those that supported Trump, please read. This really explains in simple English what happened. It makes a whole lot more sense than the hysterical and unquestioning followers of Das Fuehrur von Mara-lago

DM, wash your mouth out.

Conceding is one part of a raft of related opinions. You of all insisted that Biden was a lame duck, a dribbling fool, a slave for other forces of the democratic party. So far, you look like Casandra, but without the vision.

The USA is in the biggest mess it has been in since the Pilgrims could not save the corn crop. It is idiots like you, lack any sort of perception. Sadly, that has a worldlike impact. Myanmar may not have happened, but given support of fools, they were emboldened. Truth is no longer a respected virtue.

Trump does still not concede. Nor do the dopes on his site concede that they got it 100% wrong.

^ Agreed, and not while bampots like Nancy P still think they can easily ban Trump from politics with this 2nd impeachment nonsense. The GOP can't afford to not back him as he'll simply take his 70 odd million cohorts, form the Trump for Truth party and scupper the Republicans in 2024. As David Bowie sang, "Puttin' out the fires with gasoline..."

So he'll become the first President to dodge two impeachment bullets which, for him and his ra-ra boys, is something that looks good on a resume.

I can't stand Trump, -- he's a fraud and a thief. That said, so far I don't agree with many things that Biden has done. Far left examples? Let's start with rejoining the Human Rights Council of the UN. And choosing not to enforce our immigration laws.

As suspected, Uncle Joe is being led by the nose by the socialists. In addition to already killing the oil industry and losing high paying jobs, the flood gates are now open for illegals. Hopefully the printing presses won't break down before before they pass massive tax increases. Scary times ahead.

I hear what you are saying, not sure if I would classify that as FAR left.

The fossil fuel industries are doomed, that includes oil and coal. GM's recent announcement of sunsetting petroleum engines is a significant example. Banks will not lend money to build coal fired power stations in the Western world.
Building more infrastructure like pipelines has its issues, it creates short term jobs, but is it sustainable financially, even ignoring environmental issues. Governments around the world are struggling with this, there seems to be no transitional plans in place to give communities reliant on fossil fuels a path forward to sustain employment.

As for the printing presses, very very scary. The tax cuts that Trump brought in had zero trickle down effect, the rich got richer and the poor lost jobs. Then Covid hit and it went from very bad to much more bad, the US deficit under Trump blew out even before Covid, after Covid it went North even faster.

So the choices are not great, let the economy hit rock bottom and have a very severe recession without quantitative easing, or blow out the deficit. The lessons from the great depression, and the GFC, favour governments spending their way out of a recession, but that means long term servicing a large debt.

Sooner or later somebody needs to pay that debt, very scary.

Glat
Another Republican spreading stories with nothing to back it up
"Already killing the oil industry and losing high paying jobs" Where does this come from ? And if you are referring to the Pipeline the 11.000 jobs are minute as to the damagae Trump did in 4 years. I will not just say he is the worst President when it comes to jobs and the numbers.https://www.washingtonpost.com/business ... bs-record/ 10,000,000 lost jobs. Now thats a record he now holds

Illegals "The flood gates are open" what a crock. Again , just spreading the frightening rumors Like running through the streets "The ILLEGALS are coming!!!" Have a quick read https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/10- ... he-us.html

Trump killed the US domestic oil industry with his America First agenda that used a whole bunch of debt to fund every man and his dog with an oil lease to get fracking. The net gain? America became a net exporter for (I think) two whole months. But it was never 100% self-sufficient as he claimed since the US doesn't produce certain types of oil that it needs.

Globally, when Putin decided to play hard ball with the Saudi's on oil prices, the fact is that Trump's America First agenda had made the US a bit-player in the global game. Despite Trump claiming they listened to him and he 'fixed' the problem, his 'intervention' was swatted away like the useless annoyance that it was.

So certain right wing outlets are making a whole bunch of noise about Biden's EO stopping the Exel pipeline and throwing several thousand casual labor out of work. The reality is the pipeline may have employed up to 11,000 people while it was being built but when completed, it could be managed and ran by less than 300 'high paid' workers.

Get real.
