From BBC Live Election coverage:
7:05
Panic spreads through Conservatives in wake of defeat

Chris Mason, Political editor.

Nothing reeks of panic quite like a resignation letter at 5:35am.

Not just any resignation letter. But the party chairman. Until now, at least, utterly loyal to Boris Johnson.

He manages five paragraphs, not one of which endorses him.

So, does he have confidence in Mr Johnson? He and his team are silent.

What we’ve seen overnight in miniature is the electoral pincer movement the Conservatives most fear.

Labour’s return to seats like Wakefield it could once nonchalantly bank.

The Liberal Democrats planting flags in England’s south west once again; a region that not long ago sent a minibus full of such MPs to Westminster.

Conservative MPs from the top down have the jitters this morning; the dawn decision of their former chairman quickening their pulse further.

.
Ashamed to be English since 23rd June 2016 when England voted for racism & economic suicide.

Disgusted that the UK is “governed” by a squalid bunch of economically illiterate, self-serving, sleazy and corrupt neo-fascists.

Good read here in the Torygraph

"As he contemplates two large by-election defeats, Boris Johnson will hope to find reassurance in a whole century of precedent.

This is typical mid-term blues, his backers will argue. Governments lose by-elections all the time.

And if Mr Johnson looks to the last occasion when a sitting government lost two by-elections on the same day, he might find some comfort.

In November of 1991, the Tories lost Kincardine and Deeside to the Liberal Democrats, as well as Langbaurgh to Labour.

Five months later, however, Sir John Major regained both seats en route to a surprise general election victory.

... By-elections from 2016 to 2019 were dominated by two issues: Brexit and Mr Corbyn.

Now both have been neutralised, politics is starting to look ordinary again. These defeats don’t defy the rules of politics, they fit well within them. That is not good news for the Prime Minister. '

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has told the country's parliament she plans to hold a fresh referendum on Scottish independence on October 19, 2023.

Well didnt they do well

Over a month elapsed between Torys getting involved in se x scandals.

Chris Pincher (very apt) resigns position of deputy chief whip (the post thats supposed to make sure Tory MP's behave themselves) after allegation that he groped TWO men in front of several other MP's last week.

The act itself is bad enough, but almost as bad is the fact it was in front of MP's, and it has taken until now for it to be revealed ......... smacks of someone trying to brush it under the carpet AGAIN

Also it has come to light that its not the first time, he has a previous record of this type of crime, which they must have been aware of BEFORE he was given the post

It's Tories. Mispell it again and I'll grab your testicles and twist 'em hard.

Chris Pincher has had the whip removed but they can't seem to find the ball gag and gymp suit.

Johnson is in yet more trouble. What a circus and this political circus distracts from the Brexit disaster.

The British don't currently seem capable of governing themselves. Perhaps the Americans should run the UK for a while until there are some new and more capable British politicians at Westminster.

It is awesome entertainment unless you've been too near Pincher in the last 10 or 20 years. He has a lot of form.

How do you mean? Pick them off with an AR-15 from a high vantage point? Storm the Houses of Parliament? Start driving on the wrong side of the road?

Nah tam, after 311 attempts so far this year they still cant get it right in their own back yard [-X
As for storming parliament, I suspect some bobby on the beat would bop them on the head with his truncheon
Currently assessing the practicality of that by watching Thai soap opera videos

Discussions are probably still ongoing between Trump/Bojo/Putin on how to rig election results

So, just how lame a duck is the lame duck in #10?

When Rayner was tabling the 'special question' in the House yesterday, Johnson sent his fat friend Ellis to swat away the grilling with the usual melange of platitudes and obfuscation while His Protuberance himself though it vitally more important that he call Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

He's getting lamer & lamer (as ducks go).
The fact that he is now relying on Moggie to quote Political history from 19th and early 20th century instead of Patel/Raab/Truss/Gove/Eustless/Shapp to point out that he "wasn't aware" of the facts to the various TV channels would indicate that even this moronic mob of a cabinet are capable of drawing a line ........ eventually
