Great to hear that the UK govt have contacted the hundreds they allowed into the country from Southern Africa and "asked" them to be tested, AFTER it gets revealed that 10% of those on a plane arriving at Schipol were infected. I'm sure all those arriving in UK were negative and they didn't travel the length and breadth of the country on public transport WITHOUT the need to wear a mask.

Indeed for once i totally agree with you on this Statto .. UK government seem useless as they did the same with the Indian variant... there comes a time when you just cant offer an excuse for the fookwits that are running the UK ..

Ah well, this Covid situation is going to be around for a few years and set to bugger up a few more Christmas holidays.
Sadly agree with you also Ernie .. ive predicted 2023 for any sort of business to get moving again 22 is a write off IMO .. covid isnt ever gonna totally be eradicated it will become just another virus we got to learn to live with and be vaccinated against with yearly boosters and tablets.

DM
You can't lock out variants that haven't been bloody detected yet

Sheesh...
The doc who found the Mandela variant did so a month ago ..but the effects were mild so she didnt say owt until a few days ago.. its all her fault then or are some countries over reacting ?? and locking the stable door after the horse has bolted bla bla bla

Whens the next Eastenders free beer sesh ??

DM
Get a grip. The 'Kent' variant was detected in Netherlands five weeks before the UK labeled it. Genomic sequencing needs two things, A ) a suspect virus and B ) time.

Does anyone think that those two KLM flights to Amsterdam from SA with 67 positives (13 omicron) were the first plane loads from anywhere?

FWIW, the east side genomic sequencing sh*ts all over the side of town with the overrated junction and like the beer, it's free.

Westenders BYOB.

Yes, the UK Parliament seems a bit light on diversity:
One in ten of the 650 MPs elected this year are non-white. Ten years ago just one in 40 MPs was non-white, according to research by the independent think tank British Future. There are 13 more non-white MPs than in the last Parliament, but all represent English seats. There are no black, Asian and minority ethnic MPs in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

I think the UK has sunk really low under Johnson. Fingers crossed the only direction from here is up. Johnson will, of course, forever be tagged with the Brexit catastrophe.

The Scottish Parliament has Humza Yousaf as an elected member who also is the SNP's Health Minister when not deep frying Mars bars at the family's chippy in Pollock.

Anas Sarwar is MSP for Glasgow and leader of the Scottish Labour Party. Hanzala Malek also represents Glasgow as a Labour MSP at Holyrood.

The Jockinese Tories however remain resolutely peely-wally. That's to say their efforts at being more inclusive simply pales in comparison.

Indeed, the Black Watch has a storied history as one of Scotland's premier regiments with a history extending back to the first Jacobite Rebellion.

Liz Truss handed the keys to the Brexit bus.

"Though she supported the UK remaining in the European Union in the 2016 referendum, she came to support Brexit after the result."

Whose side were they on? It's a while since I visited the museum at Culloden.

Cant understand all the carfuffle about Carrie being in on the "business meeting" ........ like all good wives does she not make ALL the important decisions round the house like who's Cumming, what wallpaper to put up, what goes in the Cabinet, and what gets tossed into the trash
