Thailand on Sunday (June 6) reported 2,671 new COVID-19 cases and 23 deaths.

Of the new infections, 604 were found in prisons.

Sunday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand since April 1 to 148,604 with 1,236 deaths.

The news comes as the Centre for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Saturday confirmed up to 58 separate clusters in Bangkok, the majority being at markets and construction workers' camps, all of which have been put under maximum surveillance.

On Monday (June 7), Thailand will officially begin its mass vaccination program.

The government aims to vaccinate at least 70 percent of the population by the end of year.

To date, just over 4 million vaccine doses have been administered to people in Thailand, mainly to the elderly, those deemed most at risk, frontline healthcare workers and people working in the tourism industry.

Kiattaphum Wongrachit, permanent secretary of the health ministry, has given assurances that Thailand will have enough vaccinations for use throughout June.

On Friday, AstraZeneca said Thailand is on course with production of its locally made vaccine.

Registration for a vaccination.

Post by Old Grumpy » June 8, 2021, 8:20 pm

Been reading lots about problems getting this done so took the bull by the horns and popped into the Military hospital this morning with my wife who had previously registered on line but for some reason couldn't do mine .Any way a nice lady at a desk in reception called my wife over straight away and helped her to register me, she had with her my passport, yellow book and pink Id, don't quite know which she used but ten minutes later she was back, registration completed told to expect to hear within 7 days if not please pop in. was told no problems I will get priority due to my age , 86 and no charge .So waiting another week and will post outcome .Seemed too easy, time will tell.

I'll be getting my second shot of AZ on June 25th. This means it will be 14 weeks between shots. I did not feel any pain or have any side-effects with the first jab. Good luck.

LYM, 14 weeks is a big spread between shots, what vaccine did you receive?

It’s only a little over the U.K. 12 week interval for his vaccine (AZ)

Yes, it seems too long. I wonder if it will still be effective. It is the Astra Zenecca dose. People who had the Pfizer or Moderna dose in Canada will be able to get their second within 4-6 weeks, which is much better.
