When the vaccine first got emergency approval, Scotland's First Minister was the only senior UK statesperson to mention a specific date to start their vaccination drive. That was to be on December 8th. Everyone else played mum.

Roll on December 8th and some poor old granny in Coventry is rousted for a 6:30 a.m. photo opportunity. I don't recall my aging, ailing parents ever getting an NHS appointment that early, even in an emergency.

Meanwhile, north of the border, Scotland delivers it's first jab as promised, vaccinating a senior public health worker at a far more reasonable and realistic 9:40 a.m.

Im either missing something or not comprehending about the Vaccine and Brexit??. As for the photo opp the old dear was asked if she ojld lkke to be the first in the World to be vaccinated she agreed. The timing was specific to be 6am.

DMs post seem's to have gone walkabout as i cant see it now but Barrow got lumped in with Carlisle which is furher away then our closest city Lancaster which both had high numbers we in Barrow was very low yet wd got put in Tier2. However word on the street is when the Tiers are adjusted next week we will be placed in Tier1.

Seemingly, it will be free in Canada too. However, Canadians pay for this free service every month with contributions to their provincial health plans. The Canadian Government is not getting vaccines free from various firms. They are paying a hefty fee for the vaccines. Guess where the Government gets the money to pay for the vaccine from?

Vaccines seem to be abundant and the Pfizer one is already being used, but in the UK there are some where if they have allergies maybe just maybe the Pfizer vaccine is not appropriate. With the other two Moderna and Oxford ones also coming on line everyone is hoping for a swift end to problems.
However if you thinks that just in the Western World over 2 billion need to be vaccinated, it is not going to happen inside one to two years if then.
So if you reside in Thailand , and you have a NEED to travel outside , then patience , reasonably safe here . Plus in 12-12/18 months all the little problems regarding safety, etc will be addressed and we can see how the reactions to all three of those vaccines have occurred, so those who worry will have their fears answered hopefully.

Reactions to vaccines are a normal (though tiny percentage) part of vaccination, the anaphylactoid reaction for both NHS workers who have a history of serious allergies and carry adrenaline pens around with them, was a known risk that both of them knew and had agreed to, it is probably why most/almost all early vaccinations are in places where the patient can be monitored, both NHS staff were both successfully treated and were never in danger.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday said people who have experienced severe reactions to prior vaccines or injectable drugs can still get the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for Covid-19, but should discuss the risks with their doctors and be monitored for 30 minutes afterward.
