Figures were wrong from treasury and the ATO to the govt and now a saving of 60 billion dollars we don’t have to borrow. But is at least budgeted if needed later.
There are already those in politics making a negative out of this positive.

There's a new video from Australian Ambassador McKinnon concerning repatriation flights from Thailand to Australia that might be of interest to those from that neck of the world. I believe it's from 22 May. It should be available on the embassy link.

Yes Barney, the miscalculation is a great result for our national economy. It is funny watching the firestorm coming from the opposition leader. Emphasis on the whether the glass is either half full or half empty should default to whether the glass can be refilled and on this occasion it has certainly been refilled. The next step should be targeting national infrastructure projects that will reinvigorate employment which will support those who have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID pandemic.

NSW Supreme Court blocks planned Black Lives Matter protest
05/06/2020|2min
The NSW Supreme Court has denied permission for a Black Lives Matter march to take place in Sydney tomorrow, deeming it illegal due to the risk the event would breach COVID-19 health orders.
On Friday afternoon NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she had instructed Chief Police Commissioner Mick Fuller to make a submission to the Supreme Court to place an injunction against Black Lives Matter solidarity protests scheduled to go ahead on Saturday.
NSW Supreme Court's Justice Desmond Fagan had deemed the protest an "unreasonable proposition" given gatherings of only 10 people or less are allowed outdoors in the state while thousands are anticipated to protests tomorrow.
The verdict was delivered just after 8pm on Friday.
At least some consistency

I can't imagine there won't be some form of protest, despite the court order.
Good on them - they will have my long distance support.

Agree with the sentiment, not sure you are anatomically correct.

Right now, COVID is the high priority. I agree with 'Black Lives Matter', but this is not the time to press this argument when there is an overriding issue of greater importance

The issue has been pressed in Oz for decades.
The result has been SFA, and that seems to be pretty important to the indigenous population.
I support their right to make a statement and be noticed at this important juncture in black history in western countries.
Anyway, this is NSW specific. Let's see what happens in the other states and territories.

The Reasons in the judgement should make interesting reading........... the NSW Court of Appeal overturned a ban on the Black Lives Matter protest, meaning the gathering was considered lawful and protesters were immune from prosecution for breaching public health orders.

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia
What a joke with the decision by the NSW Appeals Crt. Decent people have adhered to distancing for the past 3-4 months. Businesses going bankrupt, Drs & nurses facing everyday danger and this lefty greenie socialist scum have defied all the Fed Govt/State health warnings so they can go and wave flags, signs and scream. Its a disgrace and decent people have a right to be outraged by the Crt and the scum protesters.

You be as outraged as you like, Sport - but I don't think anyone will give a toss.

Ashamed to be Australian and sad to see what the Country has become. My Forefathers (don't know about yours), would jump out of the graves and take up arms.
Just glad I don't and I no longer have to live, there. They can have the Country and I will just have a much happier life elsewhere.

No new virus cases today in Victoria. First time since the 5th of March. Not over yet by a long shot as winter kicks in but common sense and good government is working.

The government advise was and still is to stay home if you don’t need to be out. The protest leaders were fined $1600. Common sense and good government.
