Save all of your phony outrage for someone who is influenced by drama. My comments were about the ridiculous debates over numbers that do not matter. Only those addicted to drama have any use for them.

Case numbers and all of the other data is meaningless when discussing a virus with less that 1% mortality in Thailand.

Doesn't that mean your 1% mortality rate figure is also meaningless.

If maybe meaningless (unless you're part of the 1%), along with I suspect being inaccurate.

Personally, I like checking out case #'s to see how Udon/Thailand is trending.

Very true. The fact is its going to be a long time before we really know the death rate. You can compare it with war , the start of a war always has a low death rate. Ww2 on September 1st 1939 , if you worked out the death rate on the 2nd of September 1939 then dying of war would be non existent. Another great example was trump saying only 15 cases of covid and that would be it , 18 months later 10s of millions infected and 620,000 dead just in the USA. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Udon's numbers: 114 imported cases, 17 provincial cases. Total 131.
The red numbers in each amphur show the total number of positive cases for that amphur: imported+provincial

The 30th death was a 74 year old female alzheimer's patient at the Elderly care center Udon International Nursing Home in Udon. She was diagnozed on 9 July and transferred to the hospital on 11 July.

A couple of clusters in Udon news:
The first at WatPaKokSathon. A person who visited the temple from another province was infected....and further testing found 9 monks and 3 relatives testing positive. Total cases 13
A shoe salesman at Central tested positive after having a fever. Contacts at the mall were tested, another 2 were positive. Family members working in the Samprao market area came up positive as well. A total of 16 cases were found.
A Muang Thong Market vendor (next to Makro) tested positive and further testing of relatives and other connections revealed a total of 17 positive tests.
As long as Udon's numbers remain small, it'd seem the city can do a pretty good job of contact tracing

Everyday im reading the covid case numbers as many others are to access the situation and the local dangers posed .. highlighted red in Mr Ps post above (BIG THANKS) are IMO the most head shaking numbers.. and i wish i knew the answer to the nagging question lurking the darkest recesses of my mind .. at what point will returnees be stopped from coming in to Udon or any other province when it has reached maximum capacity with regard to safe facilities to isolate.

Very good question DM. We have 3 patients housed in what can only be called a hut at what was the village play and fitness area (where the gym type machines are). Which is now out of bounds to all, great while the schools are all closed. These 3 patients (confirmed Covid cases) are looked after by 2 ladies from the local Tesaban who have no medical training and a visiting nurse from the local Health Clinic in the next village. I would question the suitability and safety of this facility to house Covid patients. The only saving grace is that it is about 100m from the village proper.

i just wonder why the figures are ambiguous and not differentiated.
i mean one may think Udon Thani had 388 new local transmissions … but most of these were returnees from other provinces.

yes same here sam .. it would be a bit strange for Udon or any other Isan province to go Dark red from red based on these returnee numbers , example yesterday only 2 local new cases of the 218 total , 216 returnees under controlled circumstances ??.

The Udon numbers are 36 in-province cases, 339 returnees. I believe those numbers are midnight until 2359.......the numbers above (388) are until 1am.

I haven't seen the breakout for amphurs within Udon. I'll post it when I see it
