Regarding children, I read the news and ask the question of the Medical office near the Provincial Hall. It appears the Thai Govt is in favourof it but as to roll-out it may just be a provincial thing as to when and where

Isaan Market the site of the current cluster in Udon, 57 positive cases between 2-9 Sept. As a result, the city is closing the market until 19 Sept for deep cleaning (if that's possible in Isaan Market??). Several other areas identified as areas of concern around the city with onsy twosy cases.

I just wonder, these days, what the latest research says, about how long the Covid-19 Virus can survive outside the body. I thought it was under 24 hours.

One Lancet study suggests that the virus was killed after 5 minutes at above 70 Deg C. The Link below speaks of above 60, 65 and 75 Deg C, and a similar time frame.

If so (5 minutes, 60 minutes or even 6 hours) it will be more than likely that the virus has ran away or moved to under the shade area, before the Market Cleaners have time to suite up and arrive. That is assuming the temperature inside the market is above 70 Deg C. A pretty good bet unless they have recently added AC ? =D>

Or does the Virus live on the Food and then they just spray all of it. [-(

Then maybe their thinking is, :-k to include those people who worked in the Market, in part the cleansing process...... It is possible they will cleanse them, via a Colonoscopic enema or Gastric suction or both, ot use some other hole, that I am not aware of, to extract the virus from those who worked there. \:D/

I suppose that I am asking, what exactly will the market cleaning process achieve, when done the Thai way!! and what will they use to clean it with

Agree, my mistake

At 60 deg C its is 20 minutes

At 50 deg C its is 3 -4 Hours

At 40 deg C its is ............

UV light apparently kills Covid 19, but then the Markest are shaded and dark

Maybe a hot Steam Clean is the answer

Can't find a recent study of Temperature vs Covid 19 Life Time outside the Body

pipoz.....I'd reckon the market cleaning is like the government handouts to the needy.....a small bag of rice, a few packs of mama, maybe a blanket.....probably similar to the paper towels that were 'handed out' in Puerto Rico after the hurricane.
That said, during our 13month marooning in Texas, I never saw the kind of contact tracing that's going on here.....probably because the numbers quickly got out of hand in the US.
On the negative side, another bust on Soi Sampan last night https://www.facebook.com/KhaoUdonOnline ... 9462482891
and, funny how the jail numbers aren't included in the 'Udon' numbers.....617 positive cases yesterday in the jail in Udon

News of cases in Udon spreads fast. One case in Nong nalam just next to my brother-in-law's house, according to wife, our home only 100 mettes further. Myself, still in UK.

^ Thanks for that. I knew there was a big market in the back there somewhere. I used to park up at PTT while Mrs tam disappeared across the street with her shopping list then wait while the delivery lads would drift up and start piling her purchases in the back. All very efficient. She's not a frequent shopper at that market and I am sure she has all the latest news about what's hot and what's not.

What was the 'bust'? Dirty farang related or something more parochial?
