Case numbers continue to rise in Thailand, but it has not had a great effect on the ratio of deaths to cases. Fatality percentages in Thailand had another downtick of 0.01%. Fear merchants will not be happy with this news.
Thailand
Cases - 863,189
Fatalities - 7,126 (0.82%) *** down 0.01% into 0.81-0.82% range
Survival Rate - 99+%
World
Cases - 205,221,336
Fatalities - 4,331,098 (2.11%) *** same range 2.11-2.13% over many days
Survival Rate - 97+%
* * *
Cases and fatalities to total population
Thailand (approx 70 million)
Cases - Approx 1.23% of Thailand's Population infected
Fatalities - Approx 0.010%
World (approx 7.9 billion)
Cases - Approx 2.5% of the World Population has been infected
Fatalities - Approx 0.054%

As is usually the case, one or two, a few critics, provide misinformed opinions.
The data provided compares Thailand to the World. It does not compare Thailand to western countries, but those countries are part of the world. The western countries hypothesis and argument belongs to the critical few. It is not mine.
If the opinions of the critical few were taken seriously, (which they are not) it would make every report of covid irrelevant that appears in this forum because that data provided is also not age specific in measurements of infections and fatalities. Thank God the majority here do not follow these false and misguided opinions of the critical few. I appreciate the efforts of others to share helpful information and their sources.
The data provided from my two sources below clearly shows that through demographic percentage, the World population is overall younger than the population of Thailand.

The multi-colored graphs will make it easier for some to understand without having to read sources that they would not bother with anyway.
As a result of this comparison between Thailand's fight against covid with the World's fight, it is even more relevant and important because Thailand's population is overall older percentage-wise and should be doing worse than the rest of the world. Thailand is doing very well so far.

Dr. Stock have you considered that Thailand's population didn't really experience widespread infection until recently? The world, particularly the Western world, is like 18 months ahead in terms of how it has played out. Also, median age in Thailand is considerably less than that of Europe where death rates are high. Also, many people in Thailand likely died of covid but weren't counted ie. military dictatorship combined with peasant grannies dying because, well, they are old! Last but not least... what is your point? You don't even offer an explanation for your obsession of your flawed and rudimentary statistics. Can you not find a conspiracy theorist on the net whose words you can steal to explain your worn out data?

Yes, what's his point? There's so much cutting and pasting it's difficult to follow. The risks are so low we should be ignoring Covid and living life as normal? Few are buying into that.

Re: TH covid fatality rate currently 99+% and steady
i have no idea? every country will have varying death rates due to health care systems ,age of population and even counting methods , but they're basically all within a margin . between 1-3% death rate. i could understand the daily drivel if say thailand had some sort of drastically different numbers , but it don't . just wash ,rinse, repeat. perhaps he could add in daily weather reports ? that would make it a bit more interesting. or maybe he would explain what these repetitive daily numbers actually mean. are they good ?, are they bad ? . are they just like the rest of the world ? what point is he actually trying to get across.anefarious1 wrote: ↑August 13, 2021, 9:47 amDr. Stock have you considered that Thailand's population didn't really experience widespread infection until recently? but, but, but. ok its got an older population . but mainly in rural areas where the virus has not taken hold yet. bangkok is where the young have moved to to find work, funny enough the vast majority of cases are in bangkok, with younger age groups with better health care. i hope this explains it for you.Declan MacPherson wrote: ↑August 13, 2021, 11:18 amReading is FUNdamental, but some do not do so well. Re: TH covid fatality rate currently 99+% and steady
Dr. Stock's stats lack useful insight and are so repetitive. I thought I would share more useful info.
"Only 0.84% of people infected with COVID19 have actually died which doesn’t seem so bad. But once you break it down to age groups then it becomes scarier for the elderly. For example, out of the 70+ age group that were infected, this mortality rate increases to 12.48 percent"
"A breakdown of the age groups of the people who were reported to have died from COVID19 since 1st April 2021. A total of 7,032 people [in Thailand] have died out of 834,326 people infected which is 0.84%. The biggest age groups are 70+ (12.48%), 60-69 (4.19%) and 50-59 (1.47%)"
and very sadly
"Since 1st April, 185 pregnant women have been infected with COVID19 and 29 have died."
