Has anyone been able to get a 3rd, or booster shot in Udon? Curious what parameters are being followed, 7 disease, old age, etc, like before maybe?

My last round of in person enquiries was focused on “passport vaccine”.

When I was at Uni a few days ago there were about half the queues marked "Booster", so I reckon there's a pretty good chance you would get one by just turning up there with your passport and previous vaccine data.

Just a quick scan of Udon websites: looks like those who received Sinovac for #1/#2 can get an astrazenica as a booster. I also saw a Bangkok website that was offering a Pfizer #3 for those who received Sinovac #1/#2.

@stattointhailand, thanks will give that a try on next trip to town. @parrot, we are on the mix-n-match plan and thinking Pfizer or Moderna would round out well being a third brand and first mRNA. What doesn’t kill ya makes ya stronger and all that. :-)

Plan b is we can get either for free at the corner drugstore in the USA in a few weeks.

Wondering how long until we all need an “O” jab?

A friend had 1 - Sinovac then 2 - AZ (Ban Dung hospital) then had his prepaid Moderna 2 weeks ago as a booster at Central.

Starting to sound like a soup recipe.

I've got a buddy who came into Thailand in early September on an "O" support of a Thai national visa with his 18 year old son. He'd been on contract work in Japan and both he and his son were fully vaccinated with Pfzer back around June. He started checking around in Bangkok on where he might get a booster shot with the private hospitals telling him he could pre-purchase a booster of Moderna which might be available in 1st or 2nd quarter of next year. He also checked all the Thai public health options on-line and couldn't find anything.. I suggested he find the nearest "open" Thai government vaccination site so he headed out to Bang Sue Station Wednesday with his son. Walk-in, no problem, but they wouldn't give him a booster as they didn't honor his previous vaccinations in Japan because (bureaucrats that they are) he wasn't in their database. So, they offered him a Moderna 2 shot set. For free... Which begs the question, why would anybody, at least in Bangkok, where it appears Moderna is avaialble for free, purchase a Moderna set from any private hospital that is constrained by how the Government Pharmaceutical Officer (GPO) doles out doses to the private institutions as they arrive in country??

Interesting to see how this pans out over the next few days.
Thailand will halve to three months the time between administering a second Covid-19 vaccine shot and a booster, a health official said on Monday, to try to strengthen immunity in anticipation of a local spread of the Omicron variant....

.....“Because Omicron is now widespread, the booster third shot would help lessen the severity of symptoms and reduce the death rate,” said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, spokesperson for the government’s Covid taskforce.

Taweesin said recipients of a second shot in August or September could get boosters right away at any vaccine centre nationwide.
