OK, who's gonna be the intrepid one and brazenly do their weekend Big C, Lotus's and Makro shopping without a mask?

I feel there may be a culture problem here ....... He has asked everyone to wear their mask as a matter of respect for the others in the community, which as I understand it is the way the vast majority of Thais would view it. However in the farang population we do appear to have many "I'm alright Jack sod everyone else" characters that will just use it as an excuse to do what they want rather than what is best for everyone

Who is going to believe the tripe coming from that tossers mouth. Just trying to cover his arse having been caught without a mask on a number of occasions!

Must of missed something.

Didn't the govt previous impose a 2k (or something like that) fine for not wearing a mask in public?

Well said.....same all over the world.
Down under it's mandatory in certain areas but again, there is the "don't give a fug" attitude from some and it's not limited to covid but rather the law and authority in general.

While I agree the Mask situation is at best confusing and in some cases a downright imposition, I have learnt to wear one every time I leave the homestead. Caring not what others say and ignoring barbed comments especially from some ignorant farangs ( you know those who also break other rules, drink driving, helmetless on bikes etc )

I felt even after receiving a booster, that possible hospitalisation raises the fear factor enough to be careful , I did know people who discounted the problem. So it does not really matter what Politicians, Scientists or even friends say, I will follow my own counsel .

That may well be true for public areas but businesses can impose a requirement that if you want to access that business then a mask is mandatory.

You are completely free to try to enter, the business is equally free to refuse your entry if you don’t wear a mask. Thailand is little different from most countries in that you do not have the right to enter a private business, probably government offices can also require masks.
