Federal government in an offshore energy quandary

Attached are a couple of recent articles from The Australian* highlighting the ongoing torpor in Australia's offshore energy exploration.

Arguably Labor (just) inherited this shambles from the previous bad actors in Canberra but since it's a federal regulatory board that seems to foundering in their own courts, some urgent action may be called for from the government to stop deep-pocketed foreign investors from pulling the pin.
