From May 16, you have to show a negative PCR test or have a vaccination certificate to enter.

Ah, OK, I missed that, thanks. Making themselves a nice, squeaky clean (and depressingly sober) wee gulag in anticipation of hordes of spendy tourists flooding in come July.

Take it thats 70% of the PHUKET population not nationally ??? .. guess all the peasants Up North pail into significance. If Its all about tourism can you see many people wanting to come to Thailand until at least late 2022 / 2023 with things as they are and many tourist venues closed down ..IMO ..no... but i may be wrong.

With half the Thai hotels closing down due to covid i doubt the current post covid infrastructure could cope with anything like the millions of visitors Thailand saw before the pandemic.

First step towards Phuket's independence. They have a vision of being like Singapore; effete, expensive and full of themselves.

The secession of Buriram will be next. They have a vision of being like Lincolnshire but with less rain and a better footie team.

Udon will surely follow quickly now they have rowies and pies like Scotland.

That right Dean?

Flight passengers travelling to Phuket must present documents proving that the passenger is fully vaccinated or has tested negative for COVID-19 within the previous 72 hours or they will not be allowed to board the plane.

Good physiques, young, tanned and drop kicks. No wonder some locals look down at westerners and I dont blame them.
