Walked over the bridge in 2006 during a cultural visit to "Hell Fire Pass" and the cemeteries etc. in Kanchanaburi.
Although not the original bridge it did host a tourist train.
All very moving.
Sent from my 1977 Apple II using 2 Heinz bake bean cans and piano wire!

Yes when I popped to see Kanhanburi , I took in the bridge and all the sights, but my mind kept going back to the film Bridge Over the River Kwai and the tens of thousands who died and underwent terrible deprivations in order to just survive.
A place that I will not return to, too many memories and as I had family members in that war in that place to near to me.

Another good movie on the subject is "The Railway Man". True story.

Anzac Day at Hell Fire Pass is a must do at least once.
