For anyone interested in space exploration there is a new university museum soon to be opened at Phu Phan Noi, near Bua Lamphu, devoted to everything to do with space and the universe. Its not quite ready to be opened yet but a prelimanry look around today shows it to be a huge project, devoted primarily to young students wishing to study this subject .Its location is up in the mountains with a fine views of the surrounding countryside and some pleasant walks .. Well worth a visit .attachment=2]IMG_9604.JPG[/attachment]

I see from Google Maps that it is tagged as the Nong Bua Lamphu observatory.. I reckon they must have a large telescope set up in a dome there.. I wonder if it is open at nights for public viewing...?? I visited up there one time to take in the view westwards from the clifftops but had no idea there was an observatory (Haw doo dao) there..

Coincidence is that my young one in year 6 had been sitting with me talking about planets and the moon and earth. Year 6 studies.
Trying to make it fun to remember the planets.
Might have to find time to head out. A family field trip.
How many of you can name the planets straight off the bat now.
